the 3rd radiator is part of the x51 package and is part of the tiptronic. People, however installs it for extra cooling when on track. It a good mod to do for tracking.
On the X51 it is an absolute must.... Since his X51 was not installed at the factory, I figured he should double check....

welcome man! your car is definately one of my favorites on the board and in general your car was the car that inspired me to officially go for a p-car after how many years of dreaming about one...i saw it at the ritz carlton parked up front in the valet almost a year ago when it still had the rennworx on and for some reason i couldnt stop drooling over it...then sold my bmw a few weeks later and picked up my c4s...THANK YOU MAN and once again...beautiful 996!!!
