AJBoston is infamous around these parts
I owned a 98 355 Berlinetta which I bought for $120K (I was the 2nd owner). I drove it for 2 years (about 8K miles total) and sold it for $115K. I had no major service issues beyond routine oil changes.

When you consider how well most recent F cars hold their value, they can be much cheaper to own than a P car. Of course, mine was not a daily driver.

Just thought I'd contribute another perspective.

My 2 cents:

I also drove a 360 recently. It's a great car but, I didn't walk away too impressed. The car felt like a toy when I drove it (I mean that in a bad way), the paint job was pretty poor (in my opinion), and the car really didn't feel very fast (but, I guess it's all relative).

I spoke to the mechanic at the dealership for quite some time. He said the early 360 had lots of problems but, the newest ones were actually very good quality. The salesman and mechanic told me that the "minor" services at 15,000 mile intervals is about $2,500, and the "major" services at 30,000 mile intervals are about $5,000. Even if you through in a few extra dollars at those service intervals to fix other problems (assuming those quotes aren't too far from the truth ), those costs aren't that bad.

AJBoston, very good point on the resale value. If there is a car that holds its value better, someone please let me know.

No flames please . . .

Drove a 360 at Homestead this weekend. I was hoping my students car was a 6-speed. Of course not. Was told a while back that the paddle shifter, while upshifting was brutal. Boy thats an understatement. Absolutely horrble feeling on every upshift getting your head jerked back in the seat. The downshifts were absoulutly smooth as silk. Very enjoyable.

Considering the car had only 300 miles on it, the owner did not mind I wind it up a little. My .02, 355 was a better car to drive in comparison. But, proved to me even more, how much better a 996 turbo can be in every driving situation. Street and track usage.
