Are there tires that are quiet ?

I forget at times that Pcars are meant to be sport cars and not be compared with sedans for comfort. They will never be as quiet and comfortable as a sedan as engine, suspension and cabin insulation plays a Hugh factor. For starter, I will look at getting the alignment checked out by the dealer as it also affects tire wear. I don’t want to be replacing tires too frequently.
I truly enjoy the rumble of the pcar engine. However, after about a few hours of the tire road noise, compounded by the engine hum... and let’s not forget the radio volume to compensate for the above noise, it will eventually get to a person’s head.
I'm getting great feedback from everyone on the tires. I will certainly investigate those tire choices.

I have a feeling your issue is more with the car than the tires if you are runing 17's and still concerned with the noise.
The car does not have must sound insulation and the suspension and steering are not that issolated from the chassis as you will find in a sports sedan. The noise is part of the cost (enhancement?) of having a true sports car.

I have come to conclusion...that at least the 99 996 is a very very loud car inside.....no need for better tunes....it would be too loud to enjoy.... I drove a 996 TT and it was much quieter inside...wierd

Quite & Excellent Tires
I have owned many diff tires. I have to say my Favorite is the Good Year F1-GS-D3. If you look on tire racks website you will see it tied for 2nd place with the Mich ps2. However it has had 4 times the amount reviews in miles to get that score. The 1st place bridgestone so3 only has 500,000 miles worth of reviews on it, leaving it 15 million and 500,ooo to go. The Good Year f1's are at the top of ever catagorey in rating and I'll tell you it's the quitest tire I have ever owned. Also the tread wear and the price cannot be beat. IMO
