Aftermarket Sport Seats - Need Advice

I'm considering removing the heavy stock seats in my '03 996C2 and replacing with sport seats (those that have a movable back). Can't go full race seats as I use the back seat for my kid ("I wanna go fast!!!)

Looking at the Sparco Milanos (leather or alacantara), Recaro Speed or Sportster CS or the Cobra Misanos. I think all would do the car justice, but more importantly keep my **** in the seat during track events, etc.

Any info, thoughts, considerations, and most importantly pics would be helpful. I haven't sat in the Cobras, but have in the Sparcos and Recaros - both feel pretty good, but the Cobras are unbelievably cool to look at and are considerably lighter, for a similar price.

Thanks in advance!

No....You can get Recaros that are power, but it will not work with the power controls....

Power function is not important on my end - rather have seats that are adjustable manually but are lighter/stronger that are better supporting me for track use - however the back needs to come up so that I can still use the backseats...

That's one of the reasons I like the cobra milano's so much... I can't say that it was a selling point... but I was very happily surprised when I found out you can fold the seats forward to access the back!

This would be my pick for a sports seat right now

Recaro Sportster CS Hybrid Sport Seats

key features
  • Collapsible/adjustable racing shell in hybrid construction made from steel and composite materials (such as Carbon, Kevlar and Fiberglass)
  • Belt guides for 4-point safety belt system; 3-point belt system can also be used.

With the recaros/misanos, is there a quick release lever, like with the stock seats, to get to the back?

How easy was the install with the misanos? Any issues with width, etc.

I agree. I was going to say the same. I have not seen these in a Porsche yet but I bet they would look amazing in all black.

Or you could go hardcore like the ones I want to get for my Lotus

The recaros are intriguing...would like to see them in person, seem really tall for a seat, but heard great things. There has been a pair on EBay for quite a while that have a price or best offer, though I'm not sure how willing to part with them they are in terms of a deal...

As for the Lotus seats - those are silly cool, but can't say that I'd want to sit in them for a long period of time - I may have to use a stadium cushion for comfort...they look like they weigh 2 lbs each without the padding...

I have a pair of Black Factory leather Porsche Sport Seats with heaters and power tilt that I am considering selling. They came out of my TT and have been in storage. they are in like new condition.
