3m clear bra?'s
What is your experience with the plastic clear bra? Do stone chips chip through the plastic? Does the plastic turn color? My car is yellow.
Thanks in advance

If the stone is big enough it will go through any type of protection. 3m is not supposed to turn colors, I believe it's warranty is 4yrs. IMO it's worth the peace of mind and much easier that putting on and removing a regular Bra.

The clear bra is great on a yellow car, it all but disapears from the front. I have no stone chips in ~4100 miles of driving. Should it become damaged or start to yellow after a few years, I would happily pull it off and do it over again. I figure its got to be cheaper and easier than dealing with a paint shop.

The complaint that I have heard and seen with the 3M material is not that it turns yellow, but rather dirt and grime will start to get in around the edges, giving the material a grey outline that is very difficult to remove. Even the old 993s that had stoneguard on the leading edge of the rear fenders would get this outline. I have yet to see a car that does not suffer from this over time.
I am from the "Bra is better" school. I have found that a good front cover like one from Speed Lingerie is superior in protection, but the downside is that it takes more effort to use. I have never had any paint damage from a bra.

I've had it done on my car and it works great!! I have one suggestion, find an install who will "wrap" the film inside the lights and hood. It looks a hundred times better than film that goes to the edge of the sheetmetal and you won't have the problem that Orient Express is talking about. It cost a couple bucks more but it's well worth it.
