Bullet proof track car

To all you track junkies:

Has anyone put one of these oil pans in?

http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me..._Code=996sport

I went on a spirited drive on the back roads and during a hard corner a "yellow" light come on in the dash and then went off. I only saw it from the corner of my eye so I did not see exactly what it was. Could it have been because of the oil sloshing around?

Funny that you posted this. I just ordered it and the 3rd radiator in preparation for my car's extensive track schedule next year. I talked to a the owner of Midwest Eurosports and he told me that a lot of std p-cars come in overheated and/or starved of oil when you track it extensively. He tried to tell me to sell the car and buy a GT3 because of the dry-sump setup but I said that was not in the picture right now and he said I can band-aid it buy getting the baffle and radiator.

So I got them on order and will tell you all how it goes. I also ordered the Gt3 RS brake ducts to help cooling.

I haven't yet, but many have... here is an alternative... http://www.bkauto.com/porsche/r9095.php

And that light could have just been PSM. 997 GT3 brake ducts will fit and are a TON cheaper... the 997 GT3 Cup ducts are cheaper as well, but must be ordered through Motorsports

My vote is that it was Traction Control if it was during a spirited drive, rather than an oil light. I have tracked my 1999 EVOMS SC'd 996 C2 many times and never had any issue with oil starvation. Although, if you tuck up under another car for a lap or two, it will start to overheat like a MF. My car (with the 3rd radiator, obviously), certainly likes to have clean air flowing over the front AT ALL TIMES. Just a half a lap up under the back end of another car will result in a significant increase in the water temperature. At two laps of hard running behind another car, results in overheating. The trick for me is to get in behind the car, set up your pass, then pass; otherwise, you have to back off cool down and try it all over again.

G/L with your upgrades.

Thanks for the insite. I think you all are correct it was probably the traction control light coming on.

I have the rear cage in place, does anyone know where I can get the "black" version of these belts?

http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me...ry_Code=996exc

3rd radiator is going in this month at Sharkwerks.

The car is a C2 with basic mods, intake, plenum, headers, exshaust, flashed computer, and LWFW.

The suspension is Motons, w/H&R sways. 315 in the rear and 235s up front. Should I go to 245s up front? Also what brand tires do you like for track/street use? Do Toyo T1s work well on this car?

Thanks for all the input gang.

Cheers.
