deputydawg, is this the kit you're reffering to:
http://www.evoms.com/marketplace/Vie...61006248E78%7D

i'm surprised they don't lower the compression for that much power

I may be going the SC route next year or simply swapping the car for something else.

that's the one. no need to apparently. there's lot of high mileage SC cars running around.

it really does liven the car up. kills under my belt: GSRX600, lots of M3's, 350Z's, lots of S2000's, one SC'd S2000, 996's, 997's, and 997S', etc etc..

If you are a DIY person like me...
I looked into this somewhat, I found the best way to have a cheap TT car is to buy a base C2, sell the motor for 3-5k and then I found (at the time) a complete TT pullout from PCM to pan motor for $12k.

Thsi would be the best long term reliable option to be able to make real big power.

What do you do with the intercoolers? Will that motor bolt up to the transmission or are the TT/GT2/GT3 using different transmissions? I know they use different clutch and flywheel....I think once you deal with those things you are gonna be closer to 20k....which is about the price difference for a TT...and then you get bigger brakes and all the other things a TT comes with....

12K would be a steal for that motor. I think even if you got it for $12K, you would probably have a lot more into than $20K when all is said and done....

You are right, and that is why I have not done it, it has been a thought on a backburner that has not been fully researched.

I have seen "ebay" transmissions for about $3k with the clutch assembly. Intercoolers could be made from scratch, and I am sure there would be some wire splicing to the BCM.

I just threw out another option to have a true TT car if he did not want a wide body heavier AWD TT car.

If you really want a fast turbo car, I will sell you my Pro touring 1000 hp TT Chevelle!

Or didnt Ruf make a TT car thats RWD and based on the Gt3 body? They chose the narrow body as its more aerodynamic....if I recall correctly.

correct.
ruf will use either the narrow or wide body and u can have them build a turbo car around either one.
on older 911's...N/A to turbo conversions are more common too.

heck you could get some more power with like an intake, plenum piece, exhaust and full ecu tuning ...you would definately notice that and your car would stil be pretty simple but AWESOME sounding...
