Carbon Fiber help!!
I've tried looking on renntech and on here and found nothing that was really helpful, but anyone have any idea on how to remove the door pulls and map pockets and install the carbon fiber ones? I was hoping it's a DIY project and would hate to have to go to the dealer for something so simple.
Thanks,
Ed

Ed,
The door handles come off quite easily by getting a butter knife and by lifting one corner then use your fingers to grip both sides and start lifting slowly all the way around. Put the new ones on and they just snap in place. I even used a rubber mallet to "bash" my new set in to get a tight fit.
With respect to the door pockets thats quite easy too bar about 1 or 2 screws. Just open the lid and use a # 20 torx I think from memory and remove all the screws holding them in place. The toughest one is deep in the front corner of the cover. I used a socket set to remove that one. Placed the torx bit into a socket and slowly removed it. One side took me 15 minutes to replace the other 1 hour because of that screw.
Good luck.......

search under maybe replacing door handles with alu look in renntech...
Another point is, at least on the alu pieces, the new bin covers are not threaded for the screws so you should try and thread them before putting them back in the car as it is a PITA

As an alternative to the door bin lid removal instructions provided by arthurk, you can take a pair of needle nose pliers and grab the pin on the inner part of the lid (ie, the side closer to the door hinge of the car), then pull hard. With a good amount of force, you can pull that pin straight out, which will release that hinge on the lid. The other side will then slide out easily. Took me less than 5 minutes to do both sides. For reference, the pin is about 4-5 inches in length.

For the door pulls, I use a putty knife. It's a little firmer than a regular knife.
The lid covers require a #9 Torx driver. There are 13 screws. Most are easily accessible except for the two tucked away under the door pull. On the last set I replaced I did not bother to remove the most "hidden" screw. After I removed all the other, I twisted the lid cover enough that it came off without removing the screw. The lids are leather and are hard to damage. Another trick to accessing the screws closest to the inside is to press the lid against the door so it is almost verticle. You can then get a straight shot at the screws.
