Nav/Stereo replacement recommendations?

I just sold my avic z1 and I'm going to install a kenwood 7100 on monday. I love the avic, the only thing that i hate is the ipod interface. It's really, really slow. That's why I'm going with kenwood. My buddy just got one and the interface is super fast. I'll post pic's once it's done.

Kenwood or Pioneer NAVI systems did you guys have to get a new AMP to run the subs/speakers too?? I was told I would need at least a 5 or 6 channel AMP to run my current OEM system??(Bose Premium) Installer said 2003 and up utilize Fiber Optics and the Porsche OEM AMP cannot be used with any other head unit? Thanks..

5 channel amp will suffice. If you add a sub, definitely need some more juice. If you upgrade your speakers, definitely get an amp. You can damage your speakers by distorting them from NOT enough power, and sonically, more power means cleaner sound. Small investment, but major benefits. I had to utilize a JL Clean Sweep interface in order to retain my stock NAV/headunit.

Hey guys want to get a Nav unit like you guys. Im confused though on how you can set up how the order of the interior things go I.E HVAC Controls and CD Storage Case? Mine now goes OEM HVAC Controls..Radio...then CD Case..finally empty storage slot. I would like it like Newport has it Nav Unit then CD Case..then HVAC Controls, can these parts just move into another slot below? If I take it to Tweeter can they move all these things how I would like them? Thanks guys, your cars look sweet BTW w the Nav Units

This is pure sex setup love it. I want it I am now.
Somebody please tell me who does this kind of installation work in DFW Area with AC controls modification?
Now I am guessing your factory amp will not work with this system? What other electronic components do I need?
Appreciate any help on the subject.

I bought all my components from Amazon then I had it installed @ Showtime Audio (http://www.showtimeaudio.net/)in Chicago. Jerry is the guy to ask for, he is a super nice guy and this should be a easy install as he just did mine about a month ago. It cost me $320 for the install and should take around 3-4 hrs. I had the DNX7100, the blue tooth adapter, and the Ipod adapter all installed. I had them move my AC unit to the bottom where my tray was then I bought a deeper tray that fits above the AC unit (replaced the CD holders). You will also need to get some trim and possible bracket from your Porsche dealer. What setup do you have now and I can tell you what part numbers you may need. I will also post pictures of my setup so you can see.

Any problems with your product from Amazon? I went on websites and they 1400 for the unit, surfed the web at Amazon its 930 and other stores. Just wondering if this is legit. Also anyone have the camera put on the car? Thanks

As an alternative MB Quart QSC 210 model sound good in my car driven by pioneer Avic D3 HD and alpine PDX 4.100 amp.
