The ICE arrived today.
Goes in tomorrow.
I'm doing a complete critical mass system combined with Alpine's newest single DIN head unit (9887).
http://www.criticalmassaudio.com/
SSA-400 amplifier for the mids and highs
SSA-1000 amplifier for the subs
C652 components for the front
RS4 components for the rear
SS102 10' subwoofers (pair)
I'm having my buddy's shop in Orlando do the install over the next two days.

Actually, here's a shot of my sub boxes. Obviously mine will be wrapped in black vinyl and may even have some stitching to match the interior. This car actually belongs to Damon from the Yankees. He had this shop do the install. He decided he wanted his kids in the back of the car instead of the sub woofers, so he returned them and looks like I'll be taking his hand me downs Works out nicely as I'll have subs and maintain the parcel shelf so I can either cover them up or use the shelf for storage.
Now you may be asking, why Critical Mass? I have a couple reasons. One, they're a small, customer oriented car audio company. They make a solid product that is well engineered using very high end materials. They also make some of the lightest and slimmest speakers out there. Definitely a consideration when I'm not looking to make my car slower. Lastly, the engineer (Wayde Alfarone) behind these products has been doing this for decades and has a solid name in the industry. I've spent several hours with him on the phone going over the products. He's actually going to come down Saturday and check out the install at the shop. When was the last time a JL engineer poked his head in to see how your install was coming along? Should make for an interesting install. Not to mention Wayde's a SCCA racer who designs car audio for a living. How you can you not like a guy like that?
Should turn out great. I'll post up some pics and impressions when it's done. I have a feeling they're going to be the next big thing in the niche car audio market.

JEZ Dog, you just got your new wing on! And you think I have to much going on. Looks like the people in the back seat will really have exciting ride. Is that the 9883 or 5 alpine, I listened to one with JL speakers and it did sound nice and full but had trouble seeing the buttons so I choose a double din and probably would have went for a triple din if they made one. Enjoy...

No passengers in the back. My one midget friend isn't speaking to me anymore after he found out I am a world champion dwarf tosser. I figured I would put the space to better use
The alpine is the 9887. It's pretty sweet. Double DIN is cool, but a little too much for me. We were going to put the XM module on there, but unfortunately Alpine or Terk doesn't offer one for this unit yet. Bummer. You would think you could use the one for the current lineup, but of course not... Long ride back to Tampa listening to terrestrial radio. Yeck....

Man what a useless thread. I thought you were doing a major ice bust of some sort.
Aloha

P.S. Nice boom box setup and can't wait to see pics of you and your mullet listening to 90's tunes.
