Atomic - you are not too far off from the specs of a GT3 except the rear toe. I had mine at 1.2 I think originally and it felt very unplanted around turns and nervous. I dropped the car and had Dean(my suspension guy) GT3 spec it and he suggested 0 toe because of my complaint about the feel. I have the damn spec sheet somewhere that I just did recently when I dropped the new coilovers in.

The 0 toe really made it feel better to me. I hit some corners pretty hard and I feel more confident with the 0 toe setup than without it. That is just me but if your guy feels that it would more to your benefit then I would do it.

I inquired about the adjustable front/rear sways and Dean said he didn't think I needed anything of that nature. He said he can dial the alignment in to make it right.

Really? I'll fire off an email to Colin asking again about the rear toe issue. I'm not sure why he thinks that it'd be a bad idea to go with 0 toe. Maybe he'll let me try one then the other. The last thing I'd want to happen is to feel unplanted in the corners. I'm planning to have mine "dropped" just like you although probably not quite as far. I want to find a good compromise between being too low and high. I hate scraping the front end after all. Colin didn't think that I needed the sways after talking about my driving style but I decided to get them anyways because having the sways will give me a degree of adjustability in the future.

Would you mind finding your spec sheet so I can show that to Colin?

Atomic - no problem at all. PM your email so I can send it to you when I find it.

Here are my specs from July before I asked for 0 toe and when it felt nervous to me around corners.

Fronts:

Camber(L): -1.1(degrees) Camber(R): -1.4(degrees)
Caster(L): 7.8(degrees) Caster(R): 7.8(degrees)
Toe(L): -0.04(degrees) Toe(R): -0.05(degrees)

Rears:
Camber(L): -2.0(degrees) Camber(R): -2.0(degrees)
Toe(L): .11(degrees) Toe(R): .11(degrees)

I hope that helps for the moment. I will get the other specs today. It could be at my office when I took in my other paperwork.

I can send but the driver in the end should pick his/her specs to their driving style. Jason(Atomic) and I seem to share the same driving street styles so it would work for us. But if you track then it could be totally different. I am far from an expert on the settings - I just know what I like and I am fortunate enough to have a suspension tech head that will redial it in until I like it. I give him feedback and he dials it in until I give him the thumbs up.

I didn't scan it in today but I did give Jason in a PM the specs. I was incorrect on the 0 toe in the rear it was in the front.

I can send you the scan.

I am very happy with my settings and I think with the correction of what I said about the 0 toe in the rear I think I am in line to Jason's installers specs.

Pat J, I dropped the car 1 inch and it settled maybe another quarter inch since the install.

More Driving Impressions: I took the car out with a group of other Porsches this morning for a very sprited drive through the SoCal mountain twisties. A 997 GT3 and I broke away from the pack and we were pushing pretty hard. 8-9/10's through the twisties. He knew the roads well so I just trailed him. Guys, all I can say is the 997TT is transformed with the PSS10 coilovers. The car ate up the twisties with ease. I just needed more horse power and more red line!!! I hit the rev limiter to easily coming out of the twisties and rowing through the gears. Anyone that likes to push to the limit must have the PSS10's. If you are sitting on the fence, jump!!

I absolutely can't wait...should be interesting to see how the H&R sways affects the car too. Just curious, what alignment specs did you go with, 997TT?

Atomic, the shop that did the install, corner balance, and alignment requested that I not publish their alignment specs on the web . He did not even give them to me. I could have insisted but I decided to respect his request. I feel bad about not being able to share that part of the install but it is what it is. The important thing to note is that the factory suspension leaves a lot of room for improvement and the PSS10's really help close the gap. I really think the TT can be improved to handle at least as good as the factory GT3.

Seems a little bit fishy that your shop wouldn't want that information shared. I guess that they probably think that folks would choose to have them installed elsewhere. Well, guess what, by doing that, they've already convinced me that I should go elsewhere even if I were in your area.

997TT,

I like what you did and the car looks great.

Since this is your first Porsche, can you comment on what made you purchase it and how you feel about it at this point?

What other cars had you had for a possible comparison?

You said you could use more HP on today's drive. Why is that? I thought the TT was a very hot car.

I am considering a Porsche 4S Cabrio as a toy car and your answers would be of help to my decision.

Not giving up the 360, though.

I had really hoped to share and I would if I could. I'll ask him to reconsider next time I visit the shop. He specializes in setting up race suspensions and I suppose he considers his settings a trade secret. I realize we are not talking about competitive set ups in regards to my car but he did not want the specs published. It may sound fishy and I can respect that. Please don't shoot the messenger!
