Be Aware of Porsche Dealer in NY- Empire Motor Company
I wanted to warn everyone on the Board about dealing with Porsche of Binghampton otherwise known as Empire Motor Company. This dealership is absolutely the worst I have ever Dealt with. I had an arrangement with this dealership to purchase a new 2008 turbo cab and after they agreed to the terms of the sale overnighted the paperwork which I signed and sent back to them along with a certified check they would not honor the deal and refused to sell me the car. The BS of the whole thing was I had inquired about the car over a month ago and they were trying to get over list, then the sales person who was a very nice guy called me last week and asked if I was intersted in buying the car that his owner really wanted to sell it. We negotiated and I agreed to buy the car. The deal was drawn out over a week and when I contacted the owner by email and by phone he called me to say he would never sell the car at that price and then proceeded to get an attitude with me
Well that really set me off and I told him that he was a very unethical businesman and a piece of ****.. I only wanted to purchase a car and do business the right way. I am a man of my word and stand buy it but I guess this Owner and dealership doesn't practive that Policy. I say this that we are all grown adults and capable of making our own decisions but as a member of the Board I believe everyone should know about situations like this. Thank you !!!!!!!

Very unfortunate that you are a dissatisfied potential customer. Kyle, by reading your thread, the timeline does not matchup and what happened to your deposit and your copy of the contract? Why would you have to contact the owner anyway, when his representative sold the unit? This really isn't making alot of sense and probably should be mitigated with the dealership or PCA North America. We will make our own decisions regarding particular dealerships but thank you for the heads up regarding your dissatisfaction with this dealership. Good luck in your search.

Typical slimey car biz stuff. They figured they could squeeze you for a few more K since you're out of state, not face to face/ man to man. Let them keep that peice of crap (deal not the car). They'll be lucky to get msrp on a cab in the icey fall/winter of the fingerlake region of NYS. I personally know of three sold here, all at msrp, do not pay over, that's a sucker play.
Kyle, pm me and I can give you a name of a very influential PCNA exec, heads usually roll with him.

Kenny,
I am not sure what you are refering to as far as the timeline of the deal is concerned. I never had a deposit on the car I just inquired about it over a month ago to which they were trying to get over sticker. The sales person contacted me again last week and said the owner was wanting to sell the car because they were not having much interest in the car in that part of the state. We agreed on the price and thus it should have been a done deal. There was a problem with the sales Manager at the dealership wanting to try and collect Tax on the deal which is not applicable and I even had to get a senior tax analyst from Porsche involved to state that point. Now in response to why I contacted the owner, I did so at the request of my sales person and the title person at the dealership who agreed with me that the sales MGR was in the wrong and should not have been holding the deal up.
I certainly don't want this to reflect on Porsche as I have been A Porsche owner for many years and have a number of good people and Dealers I do business with this was just not one of them. Thanks
Kyle

Damn that sounds horrible... BUT, I must say i'm not surprised (maybe for the wrong reasons, but take it for what it's worth)
Was in Binghamton for the first time this weekend, and let me tell you this dealer was ****TY, middle of nowhere... I can't see how they can try and swindle for extra pennies considering it looks like they don't move ANY cars what so ever, but hey I could be wrong.. I went in there asked a few questions and just laughed and walked out, they have no idea what the market is like on any of their higher end car's, good luck with your hunt!
