60-130mph runs on stock VTG's 7.7 seconds

Went out with some of the other 6 speeders today to Lonestar Motorsports Park. We ran the 60-130mph event in pretty ideal weather - 75-78F, low humidity, cloudless sky. My previous recorded best was 8.4 seconds in 90F weather and a slipping clutch. Today the run was with the new AWE stage II Sachs clutch, AWE exhaust, AWE/GIAC ecu "Race" program, BMC airfilter, PES ltw 19" wheels with MPSC tires, 99 octane blended fuel at 2/3 tank. Only driver no passenger, no weight reduction tricks otherwise, and stock VTG turbos, manifolds, intercoolers.

I drove straight to the event and ran 3 runs over 30 minutes and managed a 7.9s pass on my first run (2nd, 3rd, 4th gears thru 60-130), then tried a 1 shift pass (3rd, 4th gears) and managed a 7.7s pass. Very pleased with the results!

Here is the 1 shift run:

Now the 2-shift run

Notice I am not powershifting at all. As a matter of fact,at 300ms my shifts just suck!!

Excellent results! Congrats! Most interesting was the time difference inbetween 3 <> 2 shifting method. I managed to do all tryouts with 2nd, 3rd, 4th gears on my recent Alastaro experiment. I guess the time difference would've been around 0,1-0,2 seconds with one shifting less?

For some reason I didn't see the images? Anybody else having same problem? Browser is waiting for autocarfans.com but nothing visual appears.

And yes, there's still some major gap to the top-of-the-line 996 variants. Autsch!

Thanks ESu. Yes, your time would be even more impressive if you did a 1 shift run!

Yes but your time is REALLY impressive for a new car w/ only a flash and exhaust. You have to swap out the turbos on the 996TT to get to where you are on stock turbos.

Hahhahaha, Doug, it was nice to meet you! I hope you can make it to the next event in November... Your car is an absolute dream of mine and I enjoyed seeing her rip down the track.
