In your opinion what is the difference between the 996TT and the 997TT? I know the interior is nicer, but that's not what I am interested in. I want to know the difference in the cars abilities--handling, ride, braking, acceleration, and driveability. Thanks.

Did you ask the same question a month ago? I'd bet the answers are still the same.

Just wants a different perspective from different folks, that's cool. I can compare the handling/steering coming from a 996 C4S...nite and day. As far as power goes, the only other TT I drove was a 97 993TT, the 997TT actually seems more like it than a 996 platform on some level.

Thanks for refering me back to that thread. I missed most of the answers in it, as I was away.

I think the so called handling issues were cases of too much hp and not enough skills. Porsche made the 997tt significantly more rwd biased, it's what folks complained about with the 996tt(awd). The car is awsome out of the box, the sport suspension button is like having an x73 button on a 996.

I'm actually fairly interested as well, as i'm thinking of going to a 997 series after i sell my 996 and figure out my financial difficulties. I havent had the chance to drive any of the 997 series cars yet but my 996 turbo definitely feels heavy (even with a full suspension), so if Porsche was able to fix that some how (the ' heavy feel') i'm definitely game for a 997 Turbo or GT3. Looking forward to driving both soon.
