Question: RUF 600hp kit for 997 Turbo

The jocular comments are too juvenile to respond to; instead a brief commentary of the Ruf design/fabrication process will be addressed.
A customer interfaces with Ruf personnel to discuss desired performances:
1. Alois orders a DISASSEMBLED Porsche from the factory.
2. He adds or deletes components as he deems best for overall performance.
3. His staff assembles comonents, welds the body panels, and installs Ruf parts as necessary. If performed correctly, the synergy works for the vehicle.
4. The vehicle is road tested to verify desired performance parameters.
5. The customer receives the Ruf fabricated vehicle.
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts with this: design, fabrication, assemble process.
Obviousle purchasing some parts to enhance one's vehicle does not approach the aforementioned Ruf total build process.

The RUF Rt12 does not have more than 650HP on RUF's engine dyno, it does on other chassis dynos maybe, which does not make it true. Porsche cars the same.
As far as the Yellowbird, its power ratings have been reported at around 550BHP, but that's with the manual boost controller dialled beyond 1.3Bar, the official rating of 469BHP was made at 1.1 bar.

Real life figures tell me that is true as well.
And if I remeber correct Leon's Rt12 pulled 704 hp.
Regarding the Yellowbird the papers I have for a car that started out as a targa (now totalled, but engine + parts now lives in Norway in a new car).
The dyno (made by Ruf when the car was new in 1991) does not go beyond 1.1 bar.
The hp goes up to 504 @ 6.000 rpm, but pulling 442 hp already @ 5.000 rpm.
I've heard similar power figure from other cars, but never up to 550 hp.
But then again, I would be surprised if Ruf ever officially dyoned a Yellowbird with the pressure set at >1.1.
Nuff said. The real hp in a Ruf car is between the owner of the car and Ruf.
