Mad props for attempting this project. Nice way to freshen up the 996tt. I know some of the 997tt purist may have a hard time with it but I love it. I think the 996tt interior is better than the 997tt (no stoning please). I was just asking if you could bolt the 997tt front end on a 996tt. You answered that without a doubt. Given the cost of the 996tt the only thing holding me back was those hidious headlights. Bolting on the 997tt front end would solve that for sure. I would leave the back end stock and maybe do a GT3 front bumper. Thanks for getting my wheels turning. When/if the right 996tt comes along guess I will be doing something similar.

Interesting project. Personally, I am all for modding cars and I do so with almost every car that passes through my garage doors. I just don't understand wanting to try and make a 996 look like a 997. Why not just mod the 6 until its everything you could want in terms of speed and looks??
I do not mean to criticize as I believe in everyones rights to do as they please, just wondering. There are a lot of things about the 6 styling i prefer to the 7, especially the light stick in the front.

Besides, with the cash you're gonna invest, there are many nice limited ROOs to be had

Whats a used 997 Turbo Go for (minimum?) $100k?
Whats a 996 Turbo go for? 50's all a day long!
Add that to the fact that the man building this car is the owner of iforged wheels and not only does he have mad connections through the business but he can source parts to individualize his cars at less than what you or me would pay (even with a hook up).
So at the end of the day this man has a bad *** looking car thats totally different and even though it has the 997 conversion its better than any stock 997 turbo on the street.
enuff said!

I think with the 911 and with the 996 -> 997 especially, the changes are so incremental that I think a 996 with a 997 look would be a great route visually. I think the lines are almost identical and yet the 997 looks more refined and fresher and better than alot of the modded 996s.
The car also has the grunt to back it up so I say why not. I'm sure there will be quite a few more unique elements added on so its not just a 996 masquerading as a 997, but more like a 996 redone with a 997 look yet still original.
