if you take a 997tt and throw GIAC on it, whats the output at that point ? does the chrono package do anything else ? just wondering...

Got all dyno sheets and A/F charts etc. from Todd today. We brought boost all the way up to 1.25 bar. We stopped there. The power is crazy.....

Will post them within the next 4-5 hours with a full write up.

I have the charts from your car.. The power is insane indeed.. I cant wait to modify my car also.. I have the modified Vtgs from Todd and I am very very happy with his work...

 

Here we go:

1st run: Todd dialed the boost to 1 bar (14.7 psi) and my car put down 615whp with 557ftlbs of torque.

2nd run: A little more boost was added bringing up the pressure to 1.1 bar (16.17 psi) which made 638whp and 588 ftlbs of torque.

3rd run: More boost added to reach 1.2 bar (17.64 psi) and my car put down 680whp and 629 ftlbs of torque!

4th run: Here's a run at 1.22 bar (18psi):

5th run: Here are the 2 charts for the the final run....

.....1.25 bar peak about 19 psi, max power at only 1.19 bar (18.2 psi) - Produced 700.9whp at about 650 ftlbs of TQ!

The car appeared like it could still make more power as additional boost was added but Todd said he wasnt comfortable with the stability of the motor internals with the HP & TQ numbers we were putting down. In addition, he said he could have leaned up the AF ratios to squeeze out some better HP numbers but wanted to keep the car in a safe range due to variations in fuel quality and changing air temperatures for day to day driving.

*Note that most of the runs were done at a temperature of 94 degrees Farenheit*

Here is the 701 whp pass:







Compared to the stock VGTs, the boost from the GT3071Rs comes in about 400-500 rpm later. But on the upside, I now have about 2000 rpm's of additional usable power up top. Nice compromise In addition, my car is now making more boost at 2000 rpm's than what the vgt's were making.

All and all the 997TT motor platform seems to be more efficient than that of the 996TT. Considering similar/like upgrades, it is clear that one can acheive stronger power numbers with less boost. (By the way, I owned an 01 996TT - so I am not putting down the car in any way....I enjoyed every minute of it. Afterall, if it wasnt because of my 996TT, I would have never opted for a 997.)

So final result: 701 whp (assuming a conservative 15% loss at the wheels) equates to 824 HP at the engine. Some people say an 18% loss is more realistic in which the horsepower number would then be 854 HP. At 680 whp (15% loss brings us to 800 HP)

Since my car is running a stock block with stock internals, I am planning on speaking with Todd shortly regarding the long term reliability of this setup. I wanted to discuss dialing in the Profec to a reasonable boost pressure for day to day driving and want to set a "higher boost pressure race setting" for track events. If I have to bring the boost down some to maintain reliability of the motor, I will do so.

ALL & ALL - I am pleased with my experience at Protomotive thus far.

Great stuff! Congratulations! Would like to see how this car goes against some RT12's we have in the forums Or against the fastests Sportec and 9FF cars (these 997T's have 800-1000hp)

EDIT: I would do something to the internals right away. At this level no sense to leave them intact!! You have some serious power there (They might be fine if you're using the high boost setting only a couple of times...but what's the whole point then.)

 

Holy sh*t that is stout!! I think you are going to start twisting axles with that kind of power though

I think the doubt is whether or not the motor survives more than a couple of dyno pulls on the stock internals. I think a high/low boost switch would be a nice safeguard to keep one from grenading it too quickly
