Installed Bilstein PSS Damptronics

Got my car back today with PSS Damptronic Coilovers installed. Only drove for a day but I have to tell you this might be one of the first mods I would make. Fantastic. My tuner (Deman Racing) set them up and corner balanced them to "max aggressiveness" before uneven tire wear. Great in both modes
(sport). Lightening corner response and a lot less travel particularly on the highway at speed. Hard to say what change has improved the car more, the Tubi + GIAC flash or the coilovers . . .

My only issue is that in slow tight turns (backing out or pulling in with the wheel turned over to the max) there is a fairly violent poping and it continues for a few minutes on less tight turns and then goes away. I remember a thread that someone wrote that sounded like a similar issue but can't find it. Anyone else with these coilovers experiencing the same thing ? HELP ?

Will post pics tomorrow.

tunari13, that was me that had a "slight" pop when making tight slow turns like backing out of the garage. Mine was not a continuous pop and it was not violent. I have driven the car about 800 miles since the install and it does not pop anymore. My installer explained to me that the pop is the front spring "poping" back to position as the spring rotates in the top mount when the car is turned. He said that the pop was characteristic of coilovers used in conjunction with the type of factory mount that the Turbo comes with. There have been several other folks on the board that have installed the PSS damptronic and did not have this problem. I don't know why some do and some don't. If you are not comfortable with it take it back to your installer and make sure the springs are not binding.

On the other hand, the PSS damptronics transformed the car and I look forward to driving it more than ever. You will really appreciate the difference in handling when you take it out for a challenge. The car feels, responds, and handles so much better.

I'm the other one who hasn't experienced any of the "popping" sounds that you two have described. ALPINE_997 explained that it was because of the rubber ring seals not being properly sealed if you use the ones that comes with the coilovers. Instead, you should use the OEM rubber ring which properly seats itself when installed. If you look at post number #50 in this thread:

Should tell you all you need to know.
