What options are must have and what could you live with out.

That's not bad...my house took 18 months to build. Now that was hard! And I guess you plan to find your TT nationwide. Locally, you'd be in for a much longer wait. Good luck with that and let us know how it goes. By the time you get yours the PDK, facelift and updated engine with DFI might be available then.

Hi,
i see that one of the guys has fitted the crested valve caps, which i really like. Trouble is, i have the Tequipment catalogue which says that they are not suitable for vehicles fitted with TPM. Any thoughts and ideas ?.
I also really like the fuel filler cap with aluminium look finish. All small subtle options but which help to make the car more personal i feel.
Can anyone also confirm if the bonnet badge is available in silver/grey as part of my order, or do i have to get it as an aftermarket mod once the car arrives.
Rgds.

These ones (w/ the long sleeve) do NOT work w/ TPM...
So don't try those ^^^ as they won't work.
BUT, these other ones (no sleeve, just a "cap") DO work w/ TPM...
Here are the "caps" on my car w/ TPM...
Also, I think the fuel filler cap is a nice finishing touch, and easy to install yourself (albeit a bit pricey for what it is - painted plastic that looks like aluminum... still nice though)...
Finally, I am certain you CANNOT order the silver crest badge for the car from the factory... has to be after-market add.

Hi BSM,
thanks for clearing that up regarding the caps and bonnet badge. The caps that you have actually look better as they have a portion of the badge in black.
Where would be the best place to source these caps and badge ?. I am located in Dubai but can get to the States or Europe fairly regularly,

Any Porsche dealer should carry the valve caps and the fuel filler cap. Not sure on the silver badge though... might try either Pelican Parts or Performance/AutoMotion. Also, SunCoast Porsche has a great online parts store.

BSM,
Are you sure that these work? I would caution anyone considering using these metal caps especially if you have soft stems. If you have hard stems, no problem, but on the other hand with soft stems, the rotational force will cause those heavier metal caps to come into contact with the wheel leaving you with a small gnash. That happened to me on my old M5 which had soft stems. The 997TT TPMS comes with hard stems but I'd still avoid using those metal caps just because of that anyways. BSM, check yours to see if a gnash has developed.
And yes, I have that $$$ gas cap cover too. I always thought it was aluminum but now that I think about it, it did feel kind of like plastic every time I used it.
This isn't mine but I have the same thing on mine. A gas filler flap that I got for $10 from Griot's Garage. Great idea and works really well in protecting the paint from excess gas.

Hi Atomic,
can you tell me where you got your silver bonnet crest that you had planned for your GT silver TT . I have a had a look at some sites without success. Waiting for an email back with some leads hopefully.
One of the sites i looked at also stated that those tyre caps were unsuitable for the 997 TT.

That he said, those badges are OEM quality meaning that they won't fade like those cheap knockoffs.
