Advice sought for folding seats for 997 Turbo
Folks-
I have registered with a new name, because I couldn't figure out how to change my signature.
In any event, I am instructing at PCA this next year, have an '008 997TT, and want to put in a harness bar and 5-6 point harness, that I can remove for street driving. Now, I haven't researched these seats thoroughly, but have found both the new 997 GT2 seats and the Recaro Sportster CS seats both fold and can accept these harnesses, although they are obviously heavier and not as good as pure competition seats. They might be useful as daily driver and track seats. I have a friend who has the new GT2 seats, and they are great but expensive.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance - Gerry

not sure if you absolutely require the 6-pt harness, but one easy and inexpensive option to consider is the CG Lock attachement...

I've used them for track events... It does a good job of holding like a harness, and I love the simplicity.

harness bars are a big NO-NO. while they will hold you in place, they could also kill you in the event of a bad rollover. if the roof caves in, you won't be able to move your head ... resulting in spinal damage or worse.
