Are the 997 TT's really that tail happy from anyone who's tracked one? Every video I see is sliding all over the place.

The GTR was faster and the driver said he could have pushed alot harder. One detractor is that laying down a patch of fresh rubber from another car would definitely give more traction to the surface than a clean track, although I am not sure that it would give a whole second on a short course

thats about all the new m3 is good for these days.

i def think the guy was showboating a bit in the 997TT. sliding the tail out in a lot of turns. if he had driven that car properly the results would have prob been about even for the two cars if not the turbo being faster.

I was under the assumption that the lap time for the TT was not actually shown, that the drifting around the turns was part of him clowning around before trying to set the lap.

You cant be serious to comparea lap of drifting around the track to a lap of trying to drive proper lines.

This is as bad as Best Motoring. Not that that guy is a great driver, but that is garbage.

Maybe the 'M' stands for 'Mop'.

Where did you come up w/ that conclusion? The guy didn't push the GTR all the way like he did the German car, the track was wetter than when the 911 was on it and it didn't seem like he was showboating at all w/ the Porsche. It tails out due to the inherent flaw of the rear engine config.

The Japanese care about face. I really doubt they would release the car if they didn't think it would beat what they targeted to beat: the 911.
