Atomic80 (Jason) sent me this earlier - I am just sick!!! I think my car was in the paint shop since tomorrow is my final production day. The dealer is going to call in the morning and see what he can find out. If anyone finds out anything more, please post. I can't believe this! On my WHITE paint - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
If my final production date is tomorrow, does anyone know if the body of my car would still have been in the paint drying area or do you think it is at the assembly plant already? Ugh, feeling rather sad this evening.

Can you clarify what you mean by "as I saw in my last collection?". the paperwork said mine was in Paint Production on Monday and my final assembly was supposed to have been Tuesday 2/26. Based on that, do you know if my car would have been out of the explosion area? If they are starting partial production on Monday, I wonder what that means?

Porsche to Resume 911 Production a Week After Blast (Update1)
2008-02-29 06:09 (New York)
(Adds company comment from third paragraph.)
By Chad Thomas
Feb. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Porsche SE, maker of the 911 sports
car, said its main plant will resume production March 3, a week
after a gas explosion in the paint shop caused a shutdown.
Porsche can make up lost production of 800 vehicles in
coming months by running special shifts, the Stuttgart, Germany-
based carmaker said in a statement today. Damage costs total
``several hundred thousand euros,'' which will largely be covered
by insurance.
The Feb. 25 explosion set off fire-protection sprinklers
that caused water damage to the factory, Porsche said at the
time. Two workers injured in the blast were treated at a local
hospital and released.
Porsche builds 160 of the 911-model car series a day at the
plant. Halting 911 production hasn't affected the plant's
components assembly for the Cayenne sport-utility vehicle and
Boxster car, which are built elsewhere.
External investigators have concluded the explosion was
caused by a technical failure that caused a gas leak in one of
the paint shop's drying ovens, Porsche said today, adding that
the remaining ovens have been checked and function properly.
