My new 997TT w/Twin 30R's...

we just made the car RWD for dyno purposes. the 997 turbos will not dyno on an all wheel dynojet. so we had to disconnect the drive shaft. we did drive the car for a short period of time in rwd, but i don't recommend it. the car useless in the first, second, and third gear. i will have the drive shaft put back in and i will be driving the car in awd mode.
CooL...sounds perfect to ME...Just read the whole post again and what can I say "I am 2nd in line after you" if everything else work out well

First runs on Driftbox!
I called Tym this morning to see if he was going to be able to do any road tuning and possibly get some numbers with the Driftbox I just picked up. As of this morning it was raining at the shop so he didn't think he'd have the opportunity. Surprise! The weather broke a bit and I recieved a call from Tym saying that his first run was a 6 flat in my 997 but he was still getting the hang of using the Driftbox. I cannot tell you how happy I was with that!
Then I get a call from him a few hours later telling me that the wind had died down and he was able to do some logging and further tuning to clean things up a bit from the dyno tune...
5.21 ... one shift from 3-4. He tried a couple of runs trying to get a 2 shift pass, but the car would just blow the tires off in 2nd gear and get the car out of shape so he couldn't get a clean pull.
WOW! I can't even tell you how impressed I am with this on a full weight 997TT AWD!
We just have to send the run to the appropriate person to get verification, but as far as we can tell it's a clean one!

Incredible numbers David for a totally full weight car with heavy stock wheels and tires and with only 250 miles on the motor!
FYI, DA on that run was about 1335 (tempature was about 67, dew point 36, barometer 30.08, elevation 695 feet). I also don't believe he ran it at a full 1.6 bar...so turned up, in better conditions, with a bit more practice, I think this car has a high 4 into it without a problem!
It's just mind boggling performance on a heavy 997 with just a bolt-on package and the SPI stand-alone.

Very impressive...good numbers...was this on racing C16 gas at 1.5 boost ???
AWD and full weight and this numbers...great set up...
Is he planing to open the motor after all the tuning and see whats going on there ??? if there any signs of throuble ????

we ran it at 1.5 bar on c16 race gas. i am planning on driving the car with the stock internals for the season. i will get my motor rebuild done over the winter. so far, there are absolutely no signs of trouble anywhere. i am very interested to see how long the stock internals will last at these power levels. hopefully i don't need internals until the end of the season! i expect to run the car at 700+ rwhp on 93 octane pump gas and 750+ rwhp on c16 race gas.

Hi David,
I see...so you would need to upgrade you stock internals at this level anyways sooner or later right ???
