Yes, exactly for the reasons I listed.

You should pick up a copy of "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell and have a quick read!
I have it in my book shelf right this moment. I've read it twice over the last few years. You might want to try reading it yourself.

Oh well, we probably both know what we're talking about, but don't follow/like eachothers arguments and examples Cheers!

You guys also should have a try on "Turbocharging Performance Handbook" by Jeff Hartman, much more up to date than the outdated Bell's book.,also from the same author "How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems" both are excellent reading for grasping the fundamentals of tuning.,cheers, Sonny.

Had to chime in.
More volume does not necessarily mean more pressure.
It's all about airflow.
Boost pressure measurement is a measurement of resistance to flow.
Scott's engine is very efficient, and has very high arflow.
His turbos are capable of flowing much more air at the same boost pressure.
Hence, his example of the stock turbos vs his larger turbos is correct, he would be down on power because at the same pressure level, they can't flow enough air to maximize his engine's capability.

Think of a fuel pump, which can be high flow but yet at the same pressure, because of the pumps flow capacity(bigger bore).

i think you would have to really beef up the transmission. i have never seen a tip car making over 800 rwhp.

Those trans are from S600 Bi-turbo V12...really strong in stock form...they hold withouot any probs 1000-1100 NM...So I woudnt think there could be any probs with TIPs...Had about 950NM in my E55, did 20k miles and racing and no probs at all and I beleive S600 trans comes re-inforced, stronger then E55s one...A problem will be getting right programming for ECU and TCU to work together porperly at this HP outputs and to hold the boost properly...unfortunately Tim cant not do it fast enough for ME...

tym is still tweaking the tuning on some additional options i requested. the driftbox number are posted on the 996 turbo / GT2 section. 60 - 130 mph in 5.21 secs with 1 shift from 3rd to 4th - so far, this is the fastest 997 turbo. i hope to enjoy driving her soon!

How does it feel having a "stock" looking 997 TT faster than your cgt?

the 997tt is definitely a sleeper in stock form. but i just got some wheels and looking to possibly to a body kit for it. i haven't decided on which one yet. 997tt is much faster in a straight line, but the cgt is still faster around a track. both cars are fantastic for what they are.
