My new 997TT w/Twin 30R's...

amazing work!! never seen such a clean setup.. i like the intake setup as it takes air through the holes on the sides. Since they're running an EMS, then most probably it was switched to a Map sensor setup that doesn't require MAFs and thus has no problem running BOVs.

Agreed, but it would be nice to hear it from the guys in the know. So, you guys, is this the case? Ohio, you completely ignored my question and have now hurt my feelings.

they are GT30Rs of some sort dont know tech specs yet..
Ya and actually he is finishing up my car here soon which is the twin to this one except in a 996 .

I saw the first 997 TT with the 30rs ( white car) the one your probably referring too.... All I'm going to say is that Todd is an amazing tuner... behind the scenes they ALL go to him for help... I know first hand... No I do not think that Todd puts as much work into his fab work as someone who does fab for a living- like exhaust systems...
But then, on the other hand, others will not be as good in the ecu tuning as Todd will ...
This is just my opinion...

here are some pics I took of Todd's recent work on my friend's car... I think is not that bad... funny it has a Switzer Exhaust..... the first one Todd was putting on....

Sorry, missed your post. Yes, the stand alone uses speed density.

I spoke with Tym this evening regarding the progress on the car. They were finishing up some minor details on the car as far as sensors and whatnot this afternoon. They did indeed start the car on the stand alone today and it sounds amazing. They are looking forward to beginning the tuning phase of the project which Tym feels is the most important factor in any buildup like this. In his words, "Tuning is everything... whether or not the project is a success or failure completely depends on the quality of the engine management tuning." As you might understand, I told him to take his time and do what he feels is necessary! Again, I've learned to trust his experience and judgement.
I know that some of you have had questions about the bov's, intake plumbing, etc. They have converted the car to a speed density setup and are controlling the engine with a stand alone engine managment system. There is no MAF on the car whatsoever.
We decided that we would like to see what kind of power we could make with the stock engine. Tym has already been inside the 997 Turbo engine as well as the 996TT. He feels that the engines are capable of quite a lot of power with proper tuning and that 700whp is not unreasonable if the rest of the combination is designed to support it. I've seen him extract an enormous amount of power from much smaller, lesser quality engines.
Once they get some of the initial tuning completed, I'll attempt to post a video of the car up and running! I'm very excited to say the least. Thanks to everyone for the great compliments. I feel they're well deserved for the guys over at SPI... they've done a great job.

In response to the comment about what we're going to do with the CGT...
If Tym makes my 997TT destroy the CGT (which he probably will), then I'll probably be forced to either sell it or let him come up with an upgrade strategy for it as well!

I dont know tym personally but i know of his tuning capability. He has tuned some of the baddest evo's and on standalone if you know the system, tuning is tuning. My tuner tunes rotaries primarily, my evo is the 1st he has ever tuned and he made 904whp with it safely. Tuning is tuning for the most part..
