My new 997TT w/Twin 30R's...

After finishing my 997 GT2 project this month, we have had numerous inquiries from people regarding higher hp cars with engine builds. Rather than just guessing at which components were adequate and which components were inadequate, we have decided to put Sledgehammer back on the dyno to find out where the limitations of the stock motor was. In addition, there has been much debate on how much power the stock rods can actually handle. There are still people who believe you need rods after 700 crank hp. So we started dyno testing again today, and i think many people will be amazed at just how good the 997 turbo motor is right from the factory. We have some preliminary data which i will post shortly.

we are developing our engine program as we have several customers already. the idea was to push the stock motor to the limits to see what parts would need to be addressed. when we originally stopped tuning on sledgehammer at 850 rwhp last year, our goals of the the project were far exceeded. at that time, it was not my desire to push the car any further on the stock internals so we simply stopped there. today, we want to find the limits of the motor so we can continue our engine program. more ponies are in the plan, but oddly enough, they have been achieved on the stock block. i will post details soon.

Sledgehammer makes 915 rwhp & 797 rwtq (SAE)
Here is the dyno graph of the best pull from yesterday's tuning session on the dyno for Sledgehammer. This is a SAE corrected graph. Obviously the graph in standard correction is higher, but we always post SAE. These numbers were generated by pushing the original 30R hybrids that Tym originally built for this project as far as we could while keeping the turbos in their efficiency range. 915 RWHP and 797 RWTQ. I think the graph looks GOOD! Unfortunately, we still don't have answers to the limitations of the 997 turbo motor when it is tuned with the proper tuning strategy.

I think the sledgehammer kit price is around $50K. it is not using the 3076 compressor wheel. It is a custom 30R turbo that Tym had used for this project.
