Sport Chrono a must?

Sport Chrono a must?
Sorry if this has been discussed to death but is sport chrono a must option on the 997 turbo? I had two regular 997s with and without and, frankly, I really didn't miss it. I know that you get the overboost on the turbo but reading some mag reviews, it seems like the overboost rarely comes into play and is difficult to trigger even in BO 1/4 mile runs. Also, will it kill the resale of my car if I order without it?

Granted Ive only got 160m on the TT but never even played with it....throttle is touchy with it on! On saying that its a must for resale as mentioned and Im sure I will use it more often as I build up the miles.

Just got back from a 10m drive. Its a must. The car feels lighter on its feet big time with the throttle much sharper and its nice to turn it off if the wifes in the car and your tooling around. I think its going to be on most of the time now.

A must? Not really. Resale affected? Don't know but it might. I think its nice, but the upregulated throttle rersponse takes a little getting used to. When off, the car is great already, but turning it on is like "Hey, I just got my car back from the tuner. Check this out..."
I use my Sport mode often, but not always. I like the variety of going back and forth depending on my driving mood.

Touchy throttle? I notice you have an '08 model turbo. Did Porsche change something or are you referring to the kick in the pants you get after a short turbo lag when you've applied full throttle in Sport mode? Some of the lag can be mitigated with an aftermarket exhaust. Of course the overboost (afterburners) can be turned or left off. It's not of much use for in city driving. But out on the open road it is downright intoxicating.

Essentially to me the car feels much more lively. Turn it off and the car is docile up until you floor it then its game on. Turn it back on and even half on it generates much more thrust, off the car rarely builds boost, on you can see at part throttle it will call upon the turbos.
