Is there a production Delay on 997 turbos?

My dealer said that the new models coming out next year would have the touch screen nav, ipod hookup, and bluetooth, but no word on whether or not the new turbos would have the same touches.

Looks like the trend is moving earlier in time on my order. About 3 months ago I was given a production date of 21 June for my 997 TT Coupe. One month ago it was 17 June. Today I called the dealer and right now the production date is shown as 11 June. No production number assigned yet. Dealer advised the production number is usually assigned about 30 days before the production date.

What you stated in your last post is what I have been aware of. For 2009, the availability of all of those items is very possible excepting on the 911 Turbos. I checked with my dealer just prior to the building of mine and they indicated that they were not aware and had not been informed of any of those anticipated changes being on the 2009 Turbo or slipping into late 2008 builds. My coupe ("on vessel" as we speak) is a Tip and very frankly, I would not have been happy being a 1st or 2nd year guinea pig for the PDK. I tend to shy away from any new model for at least a year and usually more if the drive train has dramatically changed. Anyway, if you plan to wait for the PDK before pulling the trigger on a Turbo, you may be in for at least a year's wait and then you can be that guinea pig! Just joking...and I hope that you get into yours in a timely manner.

Their testing process at Porsche is insane. This gearbox has been in production for years. I'm sure it will have 1 million miles real life stress testing everywhere from Antarctica to death valley, like every major porsche rollout.

I purchased an early first year (2003) Cayenne Turbo. Had tons of problems with it. I made sure it was gone before warranty ran out.
