TPMS error after lowering and HRE's?

Hello,

I recently just had my car lowered w/ H&R springs and i also threw on 19" HRE's. Everything went fine (TPC was reading properly) until the TPMS light came on about 24hrs later.... saying "TPC inactive - sytem learning." I figured it would turn off after i drive it for a bit, however, after 15mins of driving, the TPC was still inactive. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this normal? Is it because of the springs or the aftermarket wheels? Lastly, how long does it usually take for the car to learn the new "settings'?

Thanks.

that's strange. I had my HREs put on several months ago without the TPMS coming on at all. Did you check with the guys who mounted / balanced them for you?

Hi this happened to me after I had HRE P40's fitted. After a couple of days saying 'system learning' it went away. I've not had any issues since.

Ziggy…
If you had 18’s, I believe you need to make the change in the comp from 18’s to 19’s. I own a C4 and I’ve seen that option when I was messing with the trip comp not long ago… but, I’m not sure if you have that option is in the C2’s.

What can I say…
I’m still a rookie!!!

Good luck men!!! & Keep us posted.

you just have to go into your setting and press reset , who ever mounted the wheels with the sensors probably changed the location of the sensors i.e not putting them back in same location so you have to tell the car to re learn them .. its simple to do call me ill walk you through it !!!

Thanks for the replies.

FYI, i went from 19" OEM to 19" HRE's. As for resetting the TPMS, doesn't the system automatically reset?

Shavster,

how many days did it take before the error messages went away?

Thanks again.

You have to go through the menu and reset it manually then drive around untill it learns what it has to learn.
