Vorsteiner V-301 wheels & TPMS

Just got my new & shiny V-301's and I must admit, they look even more stunning than any photo would tell you!

How does one mount TPMS-sensors to these beauties? Vorsteiner first replied that "The wheels should have TPMS-Sensor slots on the inner barrel."

I couldn't find any slots, just plain smooth inner wheel. Their reply to this was that info above is incorrect and that I should just drill the TPMS on to the wheel.

What have others done?

Drilling 5000 USD wheels doesn't really reflect advertised " + Factory Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) compatible".

There is no way that that long chrome rod-valve that came with the wheels would accommodate the factory TPMS (grey piece).

the chrome valve doesnt connect to the TPMS......i still dont understand what you are saying. everything in the pix look right. the TPMS are going to lay in the inter barrel in that channel. You unscrew the grey piece on the TPMS, slide the TPMS in, and screw the grey piece on the outside out the wheel.

ESu,

Boosted I think what he is trying to say is that the barrel does not have any additional holes outside of the middle hole that he showed you to mount the TPMS. It will lay in the channel which is correct but there is not a hole that is drilled to the outside to mount the valve/stem to the TPMS. It does look like he will have to drill a hole to mount the valve stem to the sensor. Or he can band it. Just make sure if you use a band that you mark the wheel so they can trouble shoot it in the future and that no one breaks it no knowing where it is located.

I hope the drilling isn't the case but it looks from the pictures that it would be.

You are right that is not TPMS compatible.

I'd have the dealer shut-off the TPMS before installing bands. They could come loose and you'll have your TPMS unit banging on your wheels. I also wouldn't drill my brand new wheels.

Vorsteiner should have clarafied that these wheels need bands before you made the purchase.

There is a special TPMS adapter kit that was included in your wheel boxes as part of our package that does not require you to drill the barrels.

If you cannot locate the TPMS adapter kit in your package we would be happy to send you another complimentary kit via next day air freight at no charge to you.

Please email us directly with your information at sales@vorsteiner.com and we would be happy to assist you with this matter.

Regards,
