Tiptronic Evoms Evt700 Experiences ?

I know there has been a few EVOMS EVT700 installations with the tip tranny. Are there any 6speeders with the tip and the EVT700 package willing to discuss/give feedback on how the tip tranny performs with this rather significant performance upgrade. Any responses would be appreciated.

You seem pretty preoccupied about quarter mile and 0-60 times. Are you sure you are looking at the right car?

There were tons of modified 996 tips, I don't get why the 997 turbo is such an issue and why the tuners rarely address it. When was the last time EVO gave an update on the tip step down issue?

I had the same concern before I did my exhaust anf ECU flash.....this is the reply I was sent:

There was an issue with the tip 997TT whether it was stock or modified. If you pushed the gas pedal all the way to the floor, past the kick down, you would not reach full boost. It is less noticeable on the stock chip because the power/load is significantly less. You can't see this on the boost displayed on the dash. The dash does not display actual boost only requested. You need a scan tool that shows you requested vs. actual boost to see what is going on. I believe Porsche's later transmission computers have better software in them. If you would like some more info, just give me call.

Not sure that this helps, but it is what I was sent. I have an 08 TT cab with the tiptronic trans. I got my car back on weds night, but so far I have not run into the kickdown issue-

Just because you don't see it on 6speed dosen't mean it does not work, is not succesful or does not exist
This car is a Tip EVT700 from a gentleman in LA who does not participate on car forums.
Any issues (step down) that people had with the Tips were resolved before this car went back to LA to his happy owner. Sharky has done a few (and also understands fast Tip Porsches) so you can get in touch with him and I'm sure he will answer and questions and address any concerns you may have with the Tip EVT700.

There is no issue on the tip and dealing with the 700. To be quite frank here, the EVT700 Tip is going to the faster than the 6speed. The gearing really helps! If you already have the 610 there is an upgrade path available for you just the same as any 6speed car. Not sure where you got the kit from? I could seriously see a Tip EVT700 hitting 10s. Anyone want to give me the keys:!)

Do you foresee any reliability issues with the tip and that much power?

Above 780 foot pounds of torque and a LOT of drag racing, shoot outs and tracking yes... but not at this level. That transmission is extremely over-engineered!

So 700 HP Tips will definately be faster then 6 manual all the way to top ends right ??? and this transmission can hold all this power without any probs ???

What about if we run 700whp with this trans...so you get it re--inforced or something ...

Naturally things happen off the board, it is nice to hear an update as to the state of tip tuning.

Looks like the step down issue is no longer an issue. Now the tip guys can go crazy with mods. I wonder if guys with early 07 tips can get the updated porsche trans software though.

Your routine is getting old fast. All your questions were answered and the other answers you seek are available with just using the search tool. The 5 speed auto is a stout box, I believe it shares the basic similarity with the mercedes 5 speed boxes which handle much, MUCH more torque. And yes, the tranny can be strengthened.
