The Turbo beats the GTR at something: best performance engine 2008
#46
One area where the turbo will fall short, unfortunately, will probably be with Porsche's un-German and un-user friendly navigation system(it's the only aspect of my turbo that I am NOT looking forward to)

I do, you input the place you want to go and it gets you there. That's what it's supposed to do and it does it. why complain?
#49
you wouldn't even be able to afford the GTR and many other Japanese cars...lol

It really is rough outside the U.S. I read online that the S350 CDI costs somethere along the lines of $198,000. That's harsh!

I much prefer the Porsche 997 navigation than the iDrive BMW 750Li navigation.

You're first comment was so out of right field my head still hurts from reading it. No one made a comment about monetary value of a person or anything like that. Well I can't afford a Porsche or an 80k Nissan so I won't even argue your first comment further cause you'll just spin out into even more irrational comments.
So for part 2 of your response, I work for the Autobarn Ltd. www.theautobarn.com. <----Not putting in a shameless plug, I swear! My dealership is getting 3 GTRs in for now. The first 2 were sold since last year with a 20k markup on each. Also, all the dealerships in the Chicagoland area have done the same. So please, do research yourself before accusing me of making up figures. Why would I do something so dumb? Don't I know it'll blow up in my face? Hey I may only be 20 but I've been on this board for 2 years already. I've learned not to make crazy assumptions

Sorry, been quite busy the last few days.
First, my bad on reading too far into your comment. I just hear that rhetoric a lot on the boards from owners who think having a P-car is something more than just owning an expensive car. It's as if it has become the equivalent of being someone truly 'worth' something more than others and being able to look down on them because they are rich. It's tiresome and elitist, not really new, and no substitute for an actual argument about the merit of cars. From my viewpoint, we are talking capabilities of cars, not interior quality, logo, or any other fluff that comes into a discussion of, which you would rather have. And Ive said it a million times, I'd obviously take a Porsche...but thats another argument.
As for the 20-30k markup, as I said before, there is always above MSRP profit to be made on a release like this. When the GT3 RS's came out, they were pulling in 50k above sticker...and I saw that firsthand, expected.
That being said, the 20-30k is largely the very upper end of markups done by dealers to owners that would gladly pay 30k over because 1) they have cash to spare and 2) want the car regardless of price.
That being said, as you stated, the first 2 your dealer sold were a reputed 20k over. And I'd be willing to be the next lot don't go over 100k...my point is the initial market was overinflated with claims of the 80k car going for 110-120k which is just BS, then fell to well maybe 100-110k and now coming down even farther.
I have seen a few like you for around 20k over but as the market comes down after the very very start, I doubt a markup more than 10-15 from dealers and 20 for brokers...point being, half of the claimed 20-30 that everyone is expecting. Like you said, it is still a Nissan...only so many buyers are coming at these as, "eh, I'll take it cause of my cash overflow type cars." I think the majority are ones shopping in the M3/S5 range, and willing to shell out a bit more for a cheaper supercar...
That being said, I'm all but out of here for the next 3 days...
