M3 beats GT-R and Porsche turbo in C&D comparison test
#61
Raiyu - blasphemy! Turbo's rule!! GT3-RS's wish they could be like Turbo's : )
Flame war? Awww shucks...
I have been caught in the GT-R vs XXX some as well. Most of it was to be an antagonist but as Gene said we all should be thankful for what we have.
What if Gene said became true and we all drove the same thing. Would our meets look like this?

Not a fan or car and driver write-ups, they seemed more geared to creature comforts and lean towards comfort for family, instead to what the car is originally built, designed and geared towards.

I am so glad that Rear seat space and comfort came into play on judging performance cars. Car and Driver has never been a good referance for performance cars. What a dumb editor for even letting this go. These cars are not even close to apples to apples!!!

My 1986 Chevrolet custom deluxe pickup has more trunk space than any of the tested cars and is far sexier looking than the GTR. Also factor in the cost, about $2000, and I should be #1. By the way, what kind of kool-aid are they drinking over at Car and Driver?

From my understanding of the article, they enjoyed the M3 the most as they seemed to enjoy the attributes of a pure sports cars (RWD, high revving NA V8, smaller, lighter, etc.)more than outright A to B quickness, while finding very few flaws about the car. IMO, I think that's a fair assesment. Everything is going to be subjective to a point in any magazine article, depending upon the editors views and likes. Remember, performance numbers aren't EVERYTHING, to everyone...you're ignorant if you think otherwise. Lastly, take it for what it is worth. I don't suggest anyone go out and put a deposit on a car based on a magazine review without at least test driving it THEMSELVES.
