It is STILL the Ruf 600 kit, you said 550 kit

Let's look at the kW instead. if the PS/HP is getting you confused.

441 kW in BOTH cases, article vs. Ruf spec.
The 550 kit develops 404 kW.

From the Ruf specification:

RUF turbo engine kit 441 kW / 600 hp
Fine tuned engine electronics, sports air filter, conversion of exhaust
with 4 round 76 mm end tips and sports catalytic converters,
2 VTG turbo chargers in exchange
Power Output (DIN): 441 kW (600 hp) at 6,500 rpm
Specific Output: 122.5 kW/L (16.6 hp/L)
Maximum Torque: 850 Nm (626 lb.ft) at 2,750 rpm
Displacement: 3,600 cm
³

Compression Ratio: 9.4:1

I'm throwing in the Ruf 550 hp kit as comparison:

RUF turbo engine kit 404 kW / 550 hp - 6 speed transmission
Fine tuned engine electronics, sports air filter, conversion of exhaust
with 4 round 76 mm end tips and sports catalytic converters
with 6 speed transmission: stronger clutch
Power Output (DIN): 404 kW (550 hp) at 6,500 rpm
Specific Output: 112.2 kW/L (152.8 hp/L)
Maximum Torque: 780 Nm (574 lb.ft) at 2,750 rpm
Displacement: 3,600 cm
³

Compression Ratio: 9.4:1

Erik,

You are absolutely right, when I did my RUF 550 upgrade, I was qouted for the 550, 600 and the 650. I took the 550; the difference between 550 & 600 is that on the later you get new bigger turbos, while the 550 retains the originals. very fast indeed. The name of the GM of RUF Bahrain is:

Lothar, hope you're doing fine, regards to Julian

As to the 997GT2 since some people are wondering, downforce does not help it at high speeds. I have run against one with my 993TT and they are very fast indeed below 250kph.

i have a friend with an EvoMS GT700... run briefly on highway with an RT12.

just a few brief spurts to around 260kmh more or less, nothing scientific. as far as i could tell, the two cars are almost perfectly matched.

would have been interesting at speeds above 300kmh, but we didn't get a chance to try.

cheers

thats interesting since the RT12 i believe is only 650hp and the evo is 700hp.....

Then a 550hp ruf and 600Hp evo would be a nice race......

Wow, I've never heard of Z06 with an acceleration to 300 km/h in high 24s, nor a Z06 with a V Max higher than 363 km/h. Are you sure?

I must say it would be quite an achievemnt to tune the Z06 and shave off 17 seconds of its 0-300 km/h time. I call BS until proven.

I understand that's the only sort of reply I can expect when you were wrong about the 550 vs 600 kit.

If you can't afford it, don't buy it.
