Depends why you want the car. The 599 is the most desirable Ferrari currently if you can swing the bat. Beautiful car, does anything you can ask. Killer on the track and street, and can still cruise to Aspen in comfort.

 

That 599 is SWEET !! I wonder how comfortable it is. Wow is it beautiful..What's the base MSRP on it ?

 

I was in CA last week, and had the opportunity to drive both the 599GTB and the F430 on the same day (among other exotics). I wasn't sure which I liked best, but after a nights sleep, the F430 was what I wanted to drive again most of all. I haven't had the chance to drive the Scuderia (may do that in a month or two), but if I liked the F430 so much, then the Scuderia must be even better. The 599GTB is an amazing GT car, but thats exactly what it is. A very fast and capable GT car, but a GT car nontheless. As the author of this thread has already said he has a Turbo, I think he should go with the Scuderia. The Turbo is a comfortable everyday car just like the 599GTB is. A Scuderia would definitely be the most exciting from all of them... which is exactly what he said he was looking for. My 2 cents.

 

After thinking about it last night...id wake up and want to hop in the scud more. Isnt the mark up something like 100 k?

 

The Scuderia outshines the F430 by a breathtaking margin, much more than one would think looking at the marginal weight or power difference. Much tighter, much more focused, much faster gearbox.
The 599 is a stunning GT to drive, but it will never feel at home on a track, and unfortunately there a few other places where you can stretch the V12's legs.
I also believe that the 599 will depreciate faster, but that's a different debate.

The 599 listed for 280k i believe - but while i was at my Ferrari dealership a bit ago, they had 1 it was red with tan interior, it was going for 450k - 170k over list... crazy

They are totally different cars, you can't compare one with the other. F430 Scuderia is basically a street-legal racecar that is more at home on the track than on the street. It will be slower in the straight line, but faster on track than 599. 599GTB, on the other hand, is comfortable GT car that can be used as a daily driver. It will be faster in the straight line, but slower on track than F430. First decide what you want from a car, then pick a car that best meets your requirments. Having said that, if you never track your car, 599GTB is a clear choice IMO.

well to answer some of your questions:

1. i am 24 years old
2. there is no mark up on either of these 2 cars for me
3. the delivery time is approx the same for me

the 430 scuderia is the one that is more exclusive and a collectors car. and i do have the roads and the spirit for driving the way it was made..(lets keep this between us)

the only reason that tempted me towards the 599 GTB was its awesome performance. i dont really like its shape or its comfort level as i have others that can complement the same. Also that there is a higher demand for the 599's than the scuderia and i thought therefore it is more exclusive.

i thank all of you for writing and sharing your opinions. Now i have to choose between rosso red, scuderia red and yellow....the other colors are nice but where is stay its 50 degrees Celcius and so black is out and white is too common. Any suggestions??
