997TT front spoiler, rockers and rear valance removal...
I want to paint these three items to match the color of the car and am having a heck of a time trying to remove them. There is clearly some trick and or tool to release the clips/tabs that seem to be holding with a death grip. All the screws have been removed - just the clips holding everything in place....anyone done this and know the secret??? Thanks!

more information???
Thanks for your reply, but the 'certain angle' thing is what I'm asking about. If you've done this successfully, can you be more specific? Thanks!

I had trouble getting leverage to pull down and backwards if thats the way.

More clarification...
GEE BEE - thanks for the most helpful response. Can you further clarify what you mean by pulling 'out and down'? Do you mean removing all the screws and then pulling the cover straight towards you/away from the car? Thanks!

Thanks Gee Bee,
Next time I'll persevere with that method which I believe I was doing (though I erroneously described my action differently above). I was pulling out and curling down, backward.
I ended up splitting the lip's slotted tabs as I pulled. I didn't mind as I was throwing the old lip away.
I was having trouble getting enough leverage as my car is lowered and I was in a tight space.
Thanks again!

Lowered
I drive mine up on small wood blocks so I can get a jack under my GT2 Rockers on TT
Your Welcome !.....
If I need to get to the exhaust I have 3 " blocks that I set the tires under after I lift it...

I'll have to put aside a set. I did that once with my lowered M5 after an oil filler cap slipped down into the abyss and I retrieved it via the oil pan change door in the under cowling.
Great wheels btw! That's sad (for us all wanting to paint the lip, actually) that you're going to have to revert to an unpainted front lip. Your TT looks so righteous!

When I had mine removed, we used a plastic screwdriver to pry the front spoilers off pulling outwards. The rear valance also has a metal piece in the center that would have to be removed. You'd have to use two rivet pieces again.
