It sure it is nice to hear from someone actually using his cars, as opposed to modding and polishing. On the track with paper plates - way to go!

Yep. Subsequent to the above data, I had Sharky fit Damptronics and lower the car. I then took to Pacific Power for track alignment. I m now running Neg 2.1 camber in front and it makes a difference. Also, above data is with both cars on Potenzas. I now run Cups on the Turbo.

Of course, a GT-R can be tuned as well-- above is stock-for-stock (excect for Turbo power mods)

Excellent Review!

GT3 driver is really cool guy, but he was learning the track and got a bit nervous with Godzilla on his tail. A more relaxed GT3 driver on a familiar track would obviously pose a much bigger challenge. I have not heard anyone claim that GT-R is faster than GT3 stock-for-stock in hands of a pro. I am quite sure, however, that GT-R would be easier for a beginner to drive at 8/10th and still drive home in one piece.

I just picked those laps at random to show the acceleration on the straights-- they aren't my fastest laps overall in either car. I subsequently cropped the graph to remove some of the left, because (as you point out) it makes Turbo look slower than it was (maybe I had traffic in that part of the lap).

However, I also noticed that my entry speed to some corners was a lot slower in the GT-R. I was prob over-braking and then getting on throttle well before the apex. I could prob get through those turns faster overall by turning a bit earlier and trusting the car more, but it does push a bunch.

I'll take another look after my day at Thill to see what's going on.
