Porsche 997 Turbo vs E55 Both are Stock from 30

Dude I just posted two time slips for bone stock E55's trapping 118mph, look two posts above. If you don't know anything about E55's, why post misinformation?

Your right man but not on that luanch he when the E55 launched or should I say let up his tires. He would have to have the Traction control on and a pair of Nittos to hook and run those times.

Exactly and a E55 with anything other than stock tires is not stock. Those things got no traction at all.

Dude, maybe you should do some research before you talk. VRP is a close friend of mine and they are heavily in modifying E55s so I should know a thing or two about them. Those BONE STOCK E55 slips you posted are not with stock tires and on a really good track so you should be alittle more careful on posting misinformation.

There are other videos which are not as close . Like this -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8A4SN1Y8zU
I don't know if they are stock or not but regardless --the AMG benz is known for having a strong straight line rolling feature . Even in your video both cars did well .

Well - one member on the forum was convinced he destroyed an E55 AMG in his 997S...
DMoney Destroys E55 in his 997S
As this video showed, a 997TT will beat an E55 but by no means will it destroy an E55 and here this guy, dmoney, destroyed an E55 in only a 997S
That is one of the most enjoyable threads i have seen on the 6Speed, definitely give it a look, it will make you laugh

This was the worst compilation of terrible races I've ever seen. The first race you cant even tell who is on the gas and when, the E55 takes off, then the TT starts pulling back, then off again???? WTH!!!
But the TT is obviously substantially faster than the E55, not a blowout, but faster. E55's are beasts, but not on the same page, and certainly not a 2mph trap difference in stock form. More like 4-7 mph. Which is a good ways. For the weight though, the E55 is no joke.

Stock E55's average in the 116 range on bone stock tires.
Motor Trend 12.39 @ 116
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ecs_price.html
Car and Driver 12.5 @ 116
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...omparison_test
Road and Track also ran a 12.4 @ 116 in one...but the page is no longer available.
The car is fast. What's so hard to understand about that?
Regardless, with a proper driver...a stock 997TT is significantly faster.

IMHO the E55, like an M5, is no pig. To the contrary. In a straight line ANY big block AMG MB engine, bone stock, will be very fast. Anybody with a TT would do well to remember that when facing a "pig" sedan at a stop light, or from a roll for that matter. That being said, last year, with my 07 997TT Tip having maybe a couple of thousand miles on her (far from being "broken in") my friend with an 07 E63 (also bone stock with maybe 10,000 miles plus on her) raced me from 30-40 mph or so up to over 100 on a LI highway. By the time we arrived at our exit and I hit the brakes I was doing over 140 mph. He was on me like white on rice up to maybe 100-110 or so (well he was maybe 3 or 4 car lengths behind me) and then I started pulling away ferociously. By the time I starting braking for the exit I must have been 12-15 car lengths ahead of him (maybe more). He said he'd never been beat down so badly before in his E63. The best part was that I LET HIM get a car length head start so that he wouldn't complain that I received a head start. One of these days I really must videotape some of this stuff. Problem is that nobody wants to ride shotgun when I'm driving !!! Anyway, beware of ANY big block AMG MB - they will always be wicked fast.

Sorry guys I did some more research on the E55's drag times in the US and I admit I made a mistake. But I have been to the drag strip several times and finds the E55 at our local track is trapping around 110-115max so I guess either the drivers can't drive or the track is really bad. Sorry none the less guys. My mistake!
