Well - one member on the forum was convinced he destroyed an E55 AMG in his 997S...
DMoney Destroys E55 in his 997S
As this video showed, a 997TT will beat an E55 but by no means will it destroy an E55 and here this guy, dmoney, destroyed an E55 in only a 997S
That is one of the most enjoyable threads i have seen on the 6Speed, definitely give it a look, it will make you laugh

Hey guys, dont get on that guy too bad, remember that for the E211 and W209 etc. you could always get the AMG body kit as an option and AMG decals are next to easy to get, so it's very common to see poser AMG cars out there, he could have been fooled.
My wife has a W209 CLK that came with the AMG kit and even though it still has the 500 on the back people think it's an AMG and try to race anyways.

I used to own a highly modded E55 and now a own a modded 996TT. These are my observations.
1) Looks like a 996TT in the video, but I could be wrong.
2) Under 60mph, the P car doesn't seem nearly as fast as the E55. Let's not forget that the E55 is a supercharged V8= no lag at all. And this is my own experience haven driven both cars.
3) Over 100mph, the P-car will probably beat the E55.
4) I don't think they went over 60mph in any of those races, hence the E55 has the advantage except from a standstill where the AWD P-car has the advantage.

Sorry guys I did some more research on the E55's drag times in the US and I admit I made a mistake. But I have been to the drag strip several times and finds the E55 at our local track is trapping around 110-115max so I guess either the drivers can't drive or the track is really bad. Sorry none the less guys. My mistake!

Power to weight should favor the turbo, but you cant underestimate torque!
Get more decent drivers in both cars and run them to 150+!

Here's more proof the 997TT is quicker than the E55:
Not only is the 997TT quicker from a dig, but from 100-200 kph (with the 997TT's AWD launch advantage removed) the 997TT is still over a second faster than the E55:
Sport Auto: 997TT
0-200 kph: 12.7
100-200 kph: 8.9

Sport Auto: E55 AMG
0-200 kph: 14.6
100-200 kph: 10.0

And here's the Sport Auto times for the M6 and M5, for comparison purposes. The M6 is slightly quicker than the 997TT from 100-200 kph, the M5 slightly slower. However, both are quicker than the E55:
Sport Auto: M6
0-200 kph: 12.8
100-200 kph: 8.6
