What I do not understand is why Porsche did not take on Nissan man to man. A show down of sorts;their best driver vs Nissans (provided Nissan would fall for such antics). Porsche has made themselves look like sore losers even of they are in the right. Do they not have any PR skills ? When you lose in every major article written about the two and then yell 'foul play' you better have definitive evidence to back your claim. All P has done is ***** and moan. They are the most competitive engineers on earth who's ego is bigger than the fat lady that sung many months ago in favour of the Nissan. Shame on Porsche. Speculation kills credibility ...
they did not because they were blindsided. They have put the challenge out now after nissan backhandedly compares their car to porsche as part of their propaganda spew!!

and still no answer to the 4000lb physics defying question, huh
keep on diverting attention, but we'll make sure we get it back on topic.

yup and it shows with all of the 911 wins at Lemans.. explain to me what the fat sow GTR has won? oh yah, nothing in the real world. Races in japan and australia, lol, basically nothing. great record, I guess that is why they have to act like they can match the king....

Porsche has two midengine sports cars in its current production lineup, the open-top Boxster and the closed-roof Cayman S. But to many hard-core Porsche enthusiasts, a"real" Porsche will never have its engine any place but out beyond the rear wheels like a proper 356 or 911. And yet the very first Porsche was midengine, and most of the greatest Porsche race machines (907, 908, 917, 936, 956 and 962 to name six) were midengine. And every rational engineer knows that a sports car with its heaviest components centered within the wheelbase will naturally be better balanced and more responsive. There's even an argument to be made that while the rear-engine Porsches may be iconic, the best Porsches have had their engines mounted in a more logical place.

oh wait, the GTR does win the prize for most broken tranny's.

I'm sure more 996 Turbos destroyed their synchros than R35 GT-Rs have had problems to date.

Funny thing is that the reason why Nissan has drawn the ire of porsche and porsche owners is because of it's advertising campaign. the truth is that if porsche would have let their car in the hands of customers do the talking and see where the chips fall, these long threads would not exist.
Ever wonder why you don't see these threads about ZO6 or ZR1 or ACS versus porsche? because they let their cars do the talking. Even the new suppra is not a hot debate. Nissan wanted to get attention by using skewed testing and bought off people to do what would have taken the car more than a year to do.
Nissan is quite shameful IMO. To the point that I sold my 2004 nissan and will not ever own another. I'd rather own a yugo. Their lies do not surprise me in fact I expect them to lie they have practice at it.
