997 TT beats GT-R at Ring. Nissan accused of cheating.

My friend pulled up next to a 997tt with his GTR and started to rev his engine. The tt owner put up a sign next to his window. It read " I can not race you no matter how much i want to. There are too many witnesses here, and i don't want to be embarrassed by a Datsun which costs half the price of my car. Afterall, i only bought this car to pose" True story.
The Porsche driver just didnt want to help the GTR driver pick up transmission pieces all over the road.

You are definitely Z07.

word has it that another manufacturer has called the GTR bluff. From our Rennteam compatriots:
...some other manufacturer also bought and tested USA version of GT-R and in short-not nearly as fast on the Ring as Suzuki san. BTW, driver was factory race driver and few times Le Mans winner...

No one will ever get close to Suzuki San. And Nissan have embarassed themselves once again.
1) Lied on the ring
2) Gearbox issues
3) Media scam with VDC
4) Ever increasing MSRP
5) Insane maintenance costs
6) Poor Dealership Network/Delivery
They just couldnt leave well enough alone and market their car as a "supercar" and let the car speak for itself with what it can do, they had to over-do everything, as is typical from them.
There was one at my house the other night, looked really sharp in black. Doesnt tickle my fancy though. At least nothing like the Black Series I had just been in at Jenks house. Of course there isnt much that excites me like that car did. Only wish Merc. would stick a manual in it. In something, anything.

996/997/CGT:
In order of E.T.:
09.67 @ 149.8 – ToddZ / RWD
09.79 @ 146.4 - dk996tt / 997TT AWD
09.91 @ 145.6 - Markski / RWD
10.45 @ 146.8 - Divexxtreme / RWD
10.50 @ 140.6 - Joetwint / AWD
10.62 @ 132.5 - Sharky / AWD
10.66 @ 132.6 - Achicchelli / 997TT AWD TIP
10.74 @ 131.7 - Hamann7 / AWD
10.75 @ 135.3 - Chris Green / RWD
10.77 @ 131.5 - RenntechV12 / GT2
So a GT-R with an intercooler pipe, ecu flash, exhaust, meth injection kit, and intake filters ran in the top 11 on this Porsche list! Another GT-R with exhaust, wheel bearings and, pulleys and ecu flash also ran in the top 11 on this list. With the car being our for only 3 months I would say that is very impressive.

I call that a highly tuned car
yes, and the tranny obviously has a lot to do with it. Remember, I am sure all these cars are stick shift cars. Big difference in shifting between them. And even with the better shifting trans and easier launching trans, even without LC, it still does not approach the trap speed of any of the cars you posted. You could probably get a stock 997tt and run 100 octane race fast and straight pipes with a tune and go as fast in trap speed with a stick if not faster.

Yeah, it is. I had some of my comrades over for some gaming this weekend. Cars of all kinds show up at my house and I have no problem with it. I have no problems with the GT-R itself. Only Nissans twisted way of advertising it, and the frothy mouth fanboys, and Z07 who wont go away.

despite renting a Road Atlanta for private open laps, HeavyC > GTR.
and the stock brakes made it for 3 laps....

A 996 TT (S or X-50) with equal mods can certainly run with those cars. I havent a driven a modded 997 TT so I cant say, but I'd be willing to bet on it. I'd like to know the verified times. I know Shariff and he's a better driver than he puts on.
