Sorry to hear that it broke. I guess Quacker and co wont be using this particular gearbox as an example of Nissan craftmanship.

 

He ran 10.53 and it's going to cost him at least 18k, or more for an upgraded one. I doubt the Porsches were paying anything near that to upgrade the parts that broke, which was more of half shafts and and axles than the actual gearboxes. This is poor engineering on Nissans's part because the half shafts/axles should give themselves up to save the gearbox. Especially since those parts are much cheaper.

And most of the Porches are breaking parts running low 10's into the high 9's with much more hp, and rwd with a boat load of weight in the back. Hardly the same.

FWIW there are RWD comaros at 3900 lbs launching to 1.37 on those same tires he's using, so lets try to keep everything in perspective here, this isnt moving the earth here. 996 GT2 on PS2's with flash and exhaust ran 11.0 @ 130 mph. Add mickey thompsons and..................

Sooooooooo what is the customer supposed to do in this case ? ask for a refund or get screwed as usual by nissan and fix the sentra box and put it up on ebay and add a bunch of lies about how awesome this car is according to the fanboys/cheerleaders at 6speed...........

Well, at least that mod shop has one guy it can call to get a busted tranny. There are probably no more busted trannys because no one uses the LC any more.
