997 TT beats GT-R at Ring. Nissan accused of cheating.

It costs a lot to develope a DSG that can handle that type power. Of course Nissan wasnt working with much considering they didnt want to lose money on each car above what they lost in developing it.
The only other cars that have dual clutch's that can handle that type of power are Ferrari (which are a little different, and well, Ferraris') and the Bugatti. So the quality of the parts they can afford to put in the car based on the budget is a lot better.
This is a wild guess but I'm assuming that Porsche couldnt fit a beefy enough DSG on the TT to begin with due to cost restraints. Well the new motor will leave plenty of room with the reduced cost which is why the MSRP will not change despite the new motor costing less to manufacture.
But Porsche's DSG will be the real deal, and will not come with stiulations on the 0-60 times, which will as always be underrated.

Yes, when Porsche states a 0-60 mph time, they do so with two adults in the car, under normal, non-clutch burning, non-wheel smoking circumstances. This is contrary to some who post the time under conditions that would void warranty and destroy the tranny.

I have little to offer in this highly intellectual discussion. But a few pages back something was said in regard to whether or not you could trust the words of a Porsche engineer...
Then today I received some photos from friends who live just outside of Stuttgart and near Weissach. One picture in particular I felt was worth posting. It's and R&D engineer leaving work and stopping to admire my friends 356. I think this picture says it all....

Try it now see if it works.
If it still doesn't work, just go directly to the thread, it's in the 997tt forum.

No it wasnt that one, at least that I know of. The one that best motoring tested against the GT2 did fail thereafter though.
And then the most recent one with the GT2 and RS, NSX and GT-R the GT-R went into limp mode and lost. Not that the guys in the Porsches were really driving anyways.

Not such a good thing to go into limp mode before you are finished performing. Guess it won't be a ladies car.

oh and I wanted to add that it looks like someone made up a song for Nissan and their tranny issues with the GTR, after a day at the track, the theme is "Ding Fries are DONE!"
