The M6 is pretty close as well at around 12.8 and 115mph and it is also close to the GTR's weight at around 3800bls. Now the GTR might not be trapping that much higher but it seems to be much quicker. The slowest i've read and seen is 12.0, the quickest is 11.3 which is suspect. Dragtimes has it at 11.8 at 118mph. Does it make sense that if it is making 540hp that it'll be quicker but have a close trap speed than the M6 and CLK-BS?

as I have said, the only one I have seen in person did a best of 12.4x at 118. The remaining times were 12.6x and 12.8x. I have seen videos at tracks of these cars running 12's. I have heard of 11's, but have not seen it.

Here's a couple that did under 12 seconds, but who knows if they're modded or not.

This one might be modded, 11.27 is a bit suspect.

Just for another data point the AMG C63 (which I have one 09) the stock ones are running mid 12's at 117 with 457hp and 440 lbs of torque.
The chipped ones are running high 11's at 119.3

I just broke mine in and havent been to a drag strip.

Well you can call it huge power with lots of drivetrain loss and I can call it lower power and low drivetrain loss.

The only thing for sure is that it's no blazer in a straigt line, and this hp is not an excuse for the ring acceleration or a reason for it's lap times.

Since that is where this all started you cant use both, it cant be heavily underrated as an explanation for lap times and sqaunder all of the power with drivetrain losses.

The car get's molested by most of the fast cars (Viper, Z06, TT, etc.). So weight/hp or in this case ACCELERATION is not it's strong point. So we can leave the dyno numbers alone because we arent getting anywhere, the fact is that the GT-R isnt much faster than a 997 GT3 or M6. So out accelerating other cars is not it's strong suit.

I have stated before that the GTR is really more of a track car despite the weight. I don't think it was ever intended to be a drag car. But those videos shows that it is capable of under 12 seconds. The under-rating hp and better tires is a better excuse than just the tires alone which what is Porsche is claiming.

I don't think the GTR is a track car. It's just . . . one of those fast cars. Like a Lambo.

"Why? Because I can.."

Hello all, I'm a new member to the GTR forum and community having purchased my GTR 2 weeks ago FULL STOP
This NEW owner seems to know alot about his car

I see no point in doing a race from the dig because hard launches will trash any tranny in the end after repeated abuse.
I can go watch a video of a GTR losing to a honda civic and tell everyone I own both and know what I'm talking about w/o going through the break in period

No pics, No tests

It never happened

Youtube is Nissan's only proof

Actually Posherboy, i'm the one that posted those results from C&D. I was just proving a point that the GTR is under-rated. But you do have a good point, if you look closer at the results, the exit speed and time of the GTR is quite impressive. I would guess that has a lot to do with the AWD system.

I'm interested in what you drive, as you are so anti-Porsche, can you please post a pic of your car?
