Yes but that 60 to 130 was on a Tip which is slower due to the TQ converter slipping... Even the dyno that I have proves it... ( I have a Tip dyno run).

Wow, but doesn't KeithTa (white 997TT) have this same kit and I believe Todd ran a 6.44 in his car, which is a 6 speed.

Hi, I would like to know why the power is droping down for a moment over 5500 Rpm?
When you are reaching full boost on the road?

6.3 with TipS sounds very good at this power and this boost levels...thats when Keith car runned as well I beleive...It use to say on Proto site...

Price is very good a well...When does the boost arrives and does the car fell lazy when driving normally...

What power does this kit makes at 1.0 on 93 pump ???

For most of us the 103 octane is but a cruel joke. Some queries from us mere mortals:

1. On gas station fuel (ie. 93 octane) what are the hp/tq. figures at the wheels ?
2. Same question, but power at the crank ?
3. I have a tip - does this package require a tranny upgrade ? Cost ?
4. Warranty ?
5. Any NY metro area authorized dealers/installers ?
6. Why or how is this tuning package different and/or better than say AWE/EVOMS/Switzer, etc. ? Seems like there are many tuners and every month or two a new "higher hp" package is released.
7. Can this tuning package be used 12K-15K miles per year on a daily driver ?

Thanks.

Todd's best 60-130 on my 6 speed 997TT was a 6.31 I believe....You will need to ask him what it was if you would like to know.

I now have the same intake on my car as shown in the kit above. The car sounds like a jet under throttle. The intakes sit in the fender wells so the sound comes right through the air scoops on the sides of the car. When you have the windows down you hear everything through those intakes. Love it!

I also picked up a driftbox myself and just ran a 6.3 with my 20" wheels at 83 degrees on a humid day about 1 week ago. However, I ran that time with 2 shifts compared to Todd's 1 shift when he ran it a while back.

You might be asking why 2 shifts???
I am forced to start off my 60-130 runs in 2nd gear instead of 3rd becasue my car is tripping a check engine light (P0021 Cam Actuator Fault on Bank 2 - Timing Over Advanced). In other words my car's cams are sitting in over advanced positions at times causing my power to shift to the top of the RPM band. Bottom line, I am losing my low end power. Thats why I need to start in 2nd. The problem comes and goes so we think its a "sticky"/faulty cam actuator. Nevertheless, once this issue gets corrected and I can start in 3rd & put on my 19s. With that said, I think my car may have a shot at a low 6 to maybe even a high 5 pass on a cooler night?? who knows.....

I wanted to point out, when my car loses power when the cam actuator starts throwing fits, my power band is pushed up to about 4K before the boost starts coming in - then starts feeling normal at around 5500/6K. When cam actuators are doing their job, boost comes in around 3200 rpms. Bottom line, as confirmed by Porsche's diagnostic computer, my cams are doing different things than what the DME is telling the car to do. Def. something is up.

Also during my runs against Chris Green's 996TT, my car had a boost hose coming off one of my diverter valve that we found to be COMPLETELY crimped which could have been causing a boost leak. That was fixed. Then, the Protomotive intake system relocated my diverter valves and now the heavy delays between shifts have been eliminated. So thats done too. All and all, many of my issues have been corrected. Now I need to knock out the cam actuator problem.

Once actuators are complete, I'll put on my 19s and then try out a 3rd gear start for a 60-130 and see what this kit can really do on a 6 speed. If I can start off in 3rd, Im confident my times will improve.

May drop my car off at the dealer for the job sometime over the next few weeks.

Markski! Approximately, What is crank hp about it? Should I use 1.12 or 1.17 to multiply 702 to get crank hp? Thanks!

Keith, I have heard of this problem on 997TT's with other tunes aswell. I wonder how often this is happening.

That is a nice kit by the way.

Should be about 780hp. Should be around 10% drivetrain loss since it is rwd..
