Stig Lap GT-R vs 911 GT2
#46
I've already explained which ones and how they've lied or manipulated results. Not going through that.
Why, you ask, because the GT-R sells magazines, more fan boys and magazine readers than any other makes whole car collection combined. Running to the stores to pick up the latest issue that has positive reviews on the GT-R.

It's a Nissan - that's why every Porsche and Corvette fanboy in the known universe is up in arms at the reviews.
There may be a few kids who know about GT-Rs from video games but they certainly aren't the people buying them.

You missed the point, which is that the kids are the ones buying the magazines. And there are lots of guys who are buying the car based on the magazines. Be it 0-60, 1/4 mile or whatever, appealing to many people who dont want to need much skill to go fast.
The GT-R sells magazines, and the better to story, the more magazines they sell, hence the reason to make sure the results benefit the car that's selling the magazines. It's been a tactic for long before the GT-R came out.
Not only that, but if you dont think Nissan has managed to get their guys into the manipulating the press, you havent paid close enough attention. There's no mystery to me why a former Nissan test driver and current shop and media representative for Nissan, not to mention the winningest driver in the US for Nissan was the first to test the GT-R on track with the TT and Z06 and mashed them by several seconds but was slower than average guys in the other two cars. And since has been there early and often when a GT-R is being tested, especially by R&T.

WTF is everyone arguing about with this particular video?
the GTR had a speed limiter on, so the test is MEANINGLESS, and says nothing other than that a limited GTR is fairly quick around this track, but nowhere near as fast as GT2!
would it have been as fast as GT2? faster? there's simply not enough info from this video to determine that! so we might as well argue about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin...
why did TG Australia bother featuring a GTR if said car was limited? well, they're a new show over there, the GTR is a hot car, and it will help their ratings.
hoo ha
let's please move on.
back to the "main GTR vs TT thread then.
carry on boys...
