Just picked up the car, had 3M and calibre K-40 installed. I had the front bumper, fenders, half the of the hood, head lights, turn signals and mirrors covered. Also had K-40 radar detectors front and rear also laser jammers both front and rear. Inside I have two blue LED lights under the tach that blink when the system picks up radar. When laser is detected they flash faster and make a distinct noise.

Radars and 3M are always a good investment

 

not bad, but why only go halfway up the hood and not the whole way? I never liked seeing the line where the 3m ends, it looks like a scratch to me

 

^ ditto....I just can't dig the line halfway. But to each his own. I'm sure in less light it's not as noticed.

JTG=Jammed to the gun which doesn't give the LEO (Law enforcement officer) a reading..

I am not trying to be mean or anything but K40 is a huge waste of money. I would suspect that if you got hit by a laser gun, it wouldn't jam anything and not warn you in time.

If you want the best of the best, you need to get the LASER INTERCEPTOR. It is also less than the k40. They don't even bother to test the k40 if that tells you anything, but somehow, this product always appeals to the exotic crowd.

The best thing on the market is the escort 9500ci. Has definitely worked for me when I have been hit with a laser. There are tons of information on this by search

 

both products work.
Some better than others.
The K40 is a LED, the laser Interceptor is a LASER and not just a LIGHT..
Some might say best to fight a laser with a laser, and the laser is stronger, but both jam.

The laser interceptor, can just jam from a further distance with no punch through up close readings.
Here are some pics of my LI install, and is HAS worked perfectly.
It also tells me which type of gun is hitting me.

Everyone has their own thoughts on which is the best.
The LI, is actually tested and has better results when compared to ANY jammer.

And as for the detector, I prefer the V1, for the directionals.
There are better detectors for warning I believe, but without directionals

Everyone has they're favorite jammers and detectors. Hundreds out there, only a few that are worth looking at. K40's are not bad machines, just way overpriced. They always appeal to the exotic crowd because just about every high end dealer will offer to put them on the car before delivery.

The reason I went half way was because I wanted the line from the fenders to meet the line across the hood, so I it looks like a shield and not a bad respray job.
