Tuning for upgraded VTG turbos...

One of good friend bought another 07 997tt last week, the car had fitted bmc filter/fvd exhaust+header and awe intercoolers with stock turbos, dont know where the last owner did the ecu tuning but it feels pretty fast and has seen 497awhp on the dyno test.

He dosent really want spend a lot more money to do more upgrade.I worder if he just do the turbo upgrade for bigger compressors like EVT700 one. Will he see more power without to tune the ECU again?Or it use-less without a new ECU tune so he must do both?anyone have some experience about this?

I do. I have an EVT700 . I had to reflash the software and will even have it done another time now that i am switching to a catless exhaust . This is not a big obstacle at all.

The difference with the EVT700 is astounding . It's my opinion that the modified Turbos are not only superior in generating Hp but pull harder and more smoothly through each gear .

The best way to describe it is that it's almost as seamless as a normally aspirated car but has power like Popeye after eating spinach.

Yes..VTG and ECU amkes big diff another 80-100 ahwp or so...deoedns on fuel...

Btw us Swizter has got those new VTG turbines which make even more power then before on my car...and it was dynoed over real 600 ahwp at 90F+...with bad launch runned 10.66 at 133 at 1/4...

chances are he may already have the flash and upgraded compressor wheels. i don't think i have ever seen fvd sell a kit without their flash.

The car got FVD exhaust and headers only,I can see FVD badges on them.If it has modded turbos already it will dynoed more than 497awhp...

From what I understand by modify other cars that if you fitted larger turbos and do nothing with the ECU you will be running lean.but the larger VTG turbos seems running under same boost as the stock one in those 700hp setup? So even the boost part no change from the 600hp tune to 700hp tune but the fuel map may have to be re-tuned to work the higher air flow?

I may want to keep my stock parts just in case, but 3k is a bit of cash.

BTW Tym has got those NEW VTG which no one else has best of the best...new technologies, better cooling and more boost then anyone ...we will test them here soon...that car should be even faster then my old one...

Most of the other tuners just use mod BW wheels...
