rough idle and engine shuts off???

hello,

My car recently started having these issues... car idles very rough and if i drive it hard, the engine completely shuts off. It also seems like i can't take the boost over 6-7psi. Also, the car will mis-fire when accelerating

The check engine light came on the other day and it appears it was due to some emissons/air issue. We checked and cleaned the MAF sensors, but the car still has the same issues. We also checked all the hoses, etc and everything seems to be in place.

It has been raining here for the last few days... could that be causing the problem?

BTW, my car has a fabspeed exhaust (10months or so now) and fabspeed headers (put on just a few weeks ago). However, i can't see why the headers would cause this sort of problem.

Does anyone have an idea of what's causing this?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think it's the headers leaking... i brought it back to the shop that installed it and they double checked it today and the headers seems okay.

any other suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks!

Eg big leakage between header ports and engine exhaust output port the turbine will not get enough pressure to flow...That is a big problem isnt it...

Are you still having those issues or did you find a way to get it resolved?

My bet would be a bad cat throwing the light, putting the car into limp mode. If the headers were leaking you'd know it, very loud, annoying exhaust leak, unmistakeable, not a mild sound. Try and run a handheld scanner to capture the codes. A lot of the fs systems had crappy cats before they switched to hjs.
I no longer run their exhaust, but I do have their headers, no issues.

I had the exhaust on for a while so i don't think that's the issue (unless it came on 10months after)? We did use a handheld scaner and it did mention something about the MAF, but we cleaned it and still same issue

We did reset the error reader, so there's no more check engine light, however, the car still has idling problems and mis-fires.

If the car is dying, rough idle, and you can't boost over 6-7 psi, that sounds like maybe a vacuum leak.
