My dealer is offering the following special upgrade. I have no idea if this is a good deal....Any comments. I have been in the market for an exhaust upgrade that is included.



997 TT 550 HP Conversion

What kind of ECU flash is it? GIAC, EVOMS, REVO, APR, etc...

The package is a bit expensive IMO.


A good ECU flash from one of the reputable tuners will run $3000-$3500.

BMC filter costs next to nothing.


Install on the exhaust should run no more that $300-$500.

These are retail prices assuming that you don't get any kind of discount.


There is a tuner in Huntington Beach, CA that will build you a custom exhaust and tune that really kicks A$$ also.

Although still pricey, it's not that bad, considering the 0-300 kph I seen reported on rennteam.

 

Not bad . Before dropping 10K why not sit down with them and go over piece by piece what you would choose ? It's not that this kit sound bad in any way . Obviously they are approaching you to cash in on a down economy on what they think will work for you . How about you providing an open minded yet firm opinion offering them a creative avenue plus profit to make your car what YOU want it to be ?

Remember --It's YOUR car. Not theirs , Not Porsches, Not the tuner , Not anyone else but YOU .

It is at Boardwalk....Ruf seems to be offering the same deal for $16,500.
Do you know if this voids my warranty? I would think if it was done by the Pdealer that it would not?

 

Boardwalk has a great technician named John Gladwell who handles all the big HP jobs, he is the best i've seen. The car is in good hands with him...but i think the factory warranty will be voided either way. I would say just ask them!

 

Does that price include header also? I think the Ruf is a better deal with clutch, warranty and the Ruff name...

Kevin from UMW is offering a 997TT reflash for $2300. I just bought a brand new Europipe [for 996TT] from the factory for $4600 including the tips. BMC air filter is $125 I believe. Total= $7025. The only labor charge should be about 2 hours to change the exhaust. ECU reflash takes 1 minute. Air filter ,10 minutes. The rest is dealer profit. Do you want to throw away $2600? I have what they are offering and have not needed a new clutch and I go to the track.
